    摘要: The machining head for machining valve seats comprises a driving system, a housing, a carriage feed assembly, a cutting tip mounted on the carriage, and a counterweight assembly. The driving system rotates a machining head on a spindle axis, and further provides independent vertical translation of each of a driving arbor and a spindle, both of which are independent of the rotation of the spindle. The carriage has both forward and backward feed capability for moving the cutting tip radially inward or outward as it cuts. Vertical movement of the arbor is converted into force for moving the carriage by a cantilever pivoting around a fixed point. The counterweight assembly, linked to the arbor by a second cantilever, counterbalances the shift in weight caused by the movement of the carriage in order to maintain dynamic balancing as the machining head rotates.

    摘要: A device for resurfacing the valve face of a poppet valve in which the pressure between a cutting surface and the valve face is controllable by the operator during the surfacing operation. A bearing case is rotatably attached to a base which is attached to a pair of gripping blocks. A cutting head is rotatably mounted on the bearing case. The cutting head, the bearing case, the base and the gripping blocks define a passage into which a valve stem is inserted. The gripping blocks are clamped in a vise which in turn clamps the valve stem in the device. When the bearing case is rotated, pressure between the cutting surface and the valve face is increased. When the cutting head is rotated, the valve face is resurfaced.

    摘要: The valve seat and guide machine comprises a base structure on which is pivotally supported a pantograph having a major arm on which is mounted a drive motor and minor arm which moves slidably with respect to the major arm. Pivotally attached to each arm of the pantograph is a head portion with a support frame which retains a spherical head and a plurality of sphere seats for supporting the spherical head so that it can pivot around its centerpoint at the center of the sphere. A stepper motor is disposed at the top of the spherical head and a spindle disposed with the spherical head retains a cutting bit and a pilot which extend from the bottom of the spherical head. Small z-axis displacement and spindle feed/retraction along the z-(vertical) axis is provided by the stepper motor. The drive motor rotates a transmission linkage which, in turn, rotates the spindle using cone-shaped pinions to cause the cutting bit, typically carbide, to cut the valve seat. Small x,y displacements are enabled by moving the entire spherical housing and its supporting sphere seats with respect to the support frame. The pantograph swings up and down on the base to provide large z-axis displacement to remove the spindle from the cutting position and to provide clearance for movement to another machine site. A system controller receives feedback from system monitors to control a spindle rotations and feed/retraction.

A spacer (12) formed with a serration groove (12a) is detachably mounted between a wall surface (11a) of the U-shaped groove (11) and the slider (16). The slider (16) is formed on its side surface with a serration groove (16a) which engages the serration groove (12a). The slider (16) is biased toward the wall surface (11a) with an elastic force by a biasing means (15) which is provided at another wall surface (11b) of the U-shaped groove (11) and includes a pressing pin (17), a disk spring (18) and a set screw (19). Therefore, abrasion and deformation can be easily coped with by replacing the spacer (12), and the shakiness of the slider (16) can be suppressed, thereby extending the life of the tool and reducing the labor for maintenance.

    摘要: A valve for installation on a flow line while the flow line is under pressure. The valve includes a two-part valve body and a valve cartridge. Each body portion has a semi-cylindrical channel sized to mate with the flow line. The body portions are secured together with a portion of the flow line enclosed and sealed in the channels of the body portions. A throughbore extends through the two body portions and fully intersects the channels of the two body portions. One end of the throughbore is adapted for attachment of a cutting tool, which is used to cut out the portion of the flow line disposed in the throughbore. After the flow line is cut, the valve cartridge is directed into operating position. A valve stem nut, a valve cap, a valve plug, gaskets, seals and connectors are provided to close and seal both ends of the throughbore.
