摘要: A gearing system using modular gear bearing components. Each component is composed of a core, one or more modules attached to the core and two or more fastening modules rigidly attaching the modules to the core. The modules, which are attached to the core, may consist of gears, rollers or gear bearing components. The core orientation affects the orientation of the modules attached to the core. This is achieved via the keying arrangement of the core and the component modules that attach to the core. Such an arrangement will also facilitate the phase tuning of gear modules with respect to the core and other gear modules attached to the core.

摘要: A driving element is divided into two coaxial toothed members elastically attached to one another. A first of the toothed members is fixed to a shaft. The second of the toothed members is freely mounted on this shaft. The second toothed member has a planar face, opposite and facing away from the first toothed member. That face has seats arranged around the shaft to receive first respective ends of deflection rods. The rods extend, with the shaft, outside of the toothed member. A flange has an axial passage for receiving an end of the shaft. The flange has seats for receiving second respective ends of the deflection rods. A device for clamping the flange on the end of the shaft and in an angular position around the shaft fitted to apply a deflection stress to the rods.

A sealing arrangement adapted to close off the connection region. The sealing arrangement comprises two annular sealing elements applied at an axial distance from one another and adjacent to the connection region so that the sealing elements are each in continuous contact with a surface of the shaft around the whole of their inner radial surface and in continuous contact with a surface of the hub around the whole of their outer radial surface.

摘要: A sector gear is formed as one of a pair of mirror image gears (12, 14). Each of the sector gears has an arcuate portion (16) having a series of teeth (18) on an outer periphery thereof, and a V-shaped base portion (20) having a first leg (22), a second leg (24) and an apex portion (26). The first leg (22) has an S-shaped configuration and connects with the arcuate portion (16) at a first end thereof. The second leg (24) has an inverted S-shape and connects with the arcuate portion (16) near an arcuate mid-length of the arcuate portion (16). The first leg (22) and second leg (24) merge smoothly with the apex portion (26). The apex portion (26) has an aperture (30) at a radial center of the arcuate portion (16). Each of the gears has an inner periphery (28) that enables complementary nesting of the pair of sector gears (12, 14).

The body is, in accordance with the invention, of fiber-reinforced ceramic comprising a lattice of essentially continuous carbon fibers and a matrix that contains carbon. The fibers in the lattice are sheathed in silicon carbide formed essentially by liquid silicon infiltrating the lattice and reacting with the carbon in the matrix. The cogs are constructed either of a similar fiber-reinforced ceramic with a load-accommodating fiber orientation or of a monolithic ceramic.

摘要: A support for a gear wheel, used in a toothed gear change transmission having a shaft and a gear wheel, where the support provides both sufficient axial fixing and radial play between the gear wheel and the shaft, necessary to compensate for working loads. The support is used with a gear wheel having internal teeth with at least one discontinuity in the internal teeth and a groove extending into the internal teeth. The support has a first disc with external teeth and at least one mating discontinuity in the external teeth, whereby the internal and external teeth and the discontinuities, respectively, can coincide with one another. A locking mechanism locks the position of the first disc relative to the gear wheel. To prevent against axial movement of the first disc against the direction of insertion into the groove, the support also includes a securing device.

摘要: A toothed wheel with a variable number of teeth has a toothed ring formed by a driving chain or belt. The referenced diameter of the toothed wheel can be modified by adding or removing individual links by means of an auxiliary toothed wheel; so as to modify the length of the drive chain. At least one transmission member cooperates with the toothed wheel to insure the transmission of energy. The auxiliary toothed wheel is displaced together with the lateral guide of the driving chain, so that its radial spacing from the axis of rotation changes synchronically with the radial spacing change of the lateral guide of the driving chain.
