    摘要： The powered pipe cutter and the pipe flaring tool both have a piston slidably mounted in a cylinder. The cylinder has a top end closed by a top end plug. A crimped cartridge bore in the top end plug communicates with a gas expansion chamber. A bolt and firing pin assembly are attached to the cylinder top end. The pipe cutter includes a shear housing with a pipe passage connected to the rod end of the cylinder. A shear plate is connected to the piston and moves with the piston to shear pipes. The pipe flaring tool includes a pipe clamp assembly with a pipe passage and a female flaring surface connected to the cylinder rod end. A male flaring surface on the piston cooperates with the female flaring surface to flare pipe ends.

    摘要： A cutting valve, for example, for a transversing incore probe system, comprises a valve box, a cylinder formed to the valve box, a piston disposed in the cylinder to be slidable therein, a cutting blade mounted to one end of the piston, a powder plug which is provided to another end of the piston and in which a powder is filled up, the powder being exploded by the operation of the powder plug, and a through hole, through which a cable or wire to be cut by the cutting blade penetrates, formed to the cylinder so as to extend in a direction normal to the sliding direction of the piston and to communicate with an inside of the cylinder. The piston is slid together with the cutting blade in an accelerated manner at a time when the powder is exploded. A kind and an amount of the powder are predetermined so that the piston is accelerated in the sliding motion in the cylinder at a speed of more than 40 m/sec. by a pressure at the time of exploding the powder and the cutting blade is formed of a material such as austenite stainless steel having a hardness less than that of a material forming the cable such as piano wire.

    摘要： A releasable connector for a pair of tensioned elements, such as straps sorting a parachuted load, has a cylindrical body separable at a diametrical plane into a pair of blocks each adapted for connection of the block to one of the elements. A helical groove is disposed about the body and is wound in one circumferential direction with the majority of an endless line of para-aramid fiber. The line is tensioned to hold the blocks in engagement so that the elements are joined by the connector. The ends of the groove return helically in the opposite circumferential direction, and the remainder of the line is wrapped in this opposite direction about the majority of the line. The body has a pair of recesses extending radially inwardly from the groove and individually receiving a pair of pyrotechnic line cutters. Each cutter extends into the groove and, at the groove, has an eye through which the line extends for severing by either cutter to release the blocks from engagement and disconnect the tensioned elements.

    摘要： A cable cutter frame has a laterally opening recess near its front end for receiving a cable that can be cut against an anvil by a chisel slidably mounted in the frame behind the recess when it is driven forward by an explosive charge. A plunger for actuating a firing pin is carried by the frame beside the anvil and chisel and is slidable lengthwise of the frame. The plunger is provided adjacent the anvil with a lateral notch that receives one end of a trigger pin slidably disposed in a passage through the anvil, whereby to move the plunger forward against spring pressure when the anvil is moved forward by a cable. As the trigger pin is moved forward it is forced out of the notch, whereupon the plunger is driven rearwardly by a spring to actuate the firing pin. A shock absorber in front of the anvil absorbs some of the impact of the chisel against the movable anvil.
