摘要: The seeder apparatus includes a first hopper for dispensing seeds onto a conveyor mechanism to be moved thereby to an entry nip between a rotary brush and the conveyor mechanism for propelling the seed downwardly at the discharge end of the frame on which the hopper is mounted. A shield assembly is mounted to the frame discharge end portion to minimize the effects of wind on the trajectory of seed or other material being propelled to the ground by a brush and conveyor mechanism. In one embodiment, a metering gate extends vertically in its closed position relative to the conveyor mechanism, the metering gate controlling the rate of dispensation of seed being moved to the entry nip. In a second embodiment, the seed hopper is mounted to a top dresser hopper whereby either seed from the seed hopper and/or dressing material from the top dresser hopper may be moved by the conveyor mechanism to the entry nip, with a top dressing metering gate being provided for controlling the rate of dispersion of material from the top dresser hopper to the entry nip.

摘要: A hooding is disposed in the hopper of the apparatus and defines a chamber isolated from the material to be distributed. A distributor wheel and two Archimedean screws, having their output ends adjacent the wheel, are mounted to rotate in the chamber. The hooding defines two openings with the bottom of the hopper respectively adjacent the input ends of the screws for allowing access of the material to the wheel. The wheel has finger members which sweep alongside a circular recess so that the wheel acts as an elevator for raising the material to the inlet end of a spout which inlet end is located above the bottom of the hopper, the spout distributing the material over the ground. The wheel is driven at a speed proportional to the speed of displacement of the apparatus over the ground.

摘要: The present invention is directed to an applicator having an agricultural product mechanical conveying system which transfers particulate material metered into the mechanical conveying system from one or more source containers to the application equipment on demand, and meters the material at the application equipment. The mechanical conveying system employs longitudinal mechanical distributors that operate to move and mix the particulate material from one of the source containers or tanks along the mechanical distributor to a plenum. At the plenum the different types of particulate materials are further blended, such as within a particle injector, and delivered to the distribution nozzles for discharge from the applicator.

In preferred forms, a separate seed hopper is mounted to the top dresser, and in a second embodiment, either seed from the seed hopper and/or dressing material from the top dresser hopper may be moved by the conveyor to the entry nip. In other embodiments, a terrain opening element in the form of a spiking roller is provided to puncture the terrain before top dressing and/or seeds are dispensed, and a brush element in the form of a pull brush is provided to move seed and any top dressing supported on grass blades downward in the terrain.

摘要: A mechanism for dispensing seed or fertilizer, etc., for agricultural row crop implements such as seed drills and precision planters, comprises a resilient rotatable roller which cooperates with a flat vertical glass dispensing plate to dispense seed or fertilizer from a hopper through a nip between the plate and the roller. The roller is of unfoamed polyurethane formed with a honeycomb of axially extending recesses defining a relatively thin outer deflection band of the roller. The recesses give the roller the uniform and high degree of flexibility needed to accommodate a wide range of seed sizes while retaining the durability, consistency of physical characteristics and suitability for precision moulding, of unfoamed polyurethane.
