Abstract:
A teat cup shell for holding a milking liner includes a body being made from a first material. The body has an upper end, a lower end; and a middle portion with the upper end adapted to receive the teat of the animal being milked. One configuration of the body may have enlarged upper and lower ends to define a dog-bone shape. The middle portion of the body may define gripping features at its middle portion. The body of the shell has a first weight. An insert is carried by the body with the insert being heavier than the remaining portion of the body. The insert is disposed closer to the lower end of the body than the upper end of the body such that the center of mass of the shell is disposed in the lower two-thirds of the shell.
Abstract:
Within a cotton candy machine a delay-on-break delay timer is used to delay the de-energization of the spinner-head motor for a predetermined period of time after the heater elements are turned off. Thus, while the heater elements are cooling down, the motor and spinner head continue to rotate. Once the heater elements are cooled to the point where they cannot melt or burn the sugar, then the motor can be de-energized and the spinner head allowed to stop.
Abstract:
An apparatus for manufacturing non-washing rice is disclosed. A rice washing intensity adjustment means includes a rice washing pressure adjustment means for controlling the pressure to polished rice in a pressure rice washing means. A washing water flow adjustment means is provided in the rice washing means.
Abstract:
A process for preparing soybean milk and okara, in particular, relating to improvement in pulverization of impregnated soybeans. The process includes carrying out pulverization of impregnated soybeans by the steps of cutting the impregnated soybeans with a device having rotating blade(s) to provide particles having an average diameter of less than about 100 .mu.m; grinding the obtained soybean particles with a device which exerts frictional shearing stress to provide an aqueous soybean slurry; and separating the water-soluble portion of the slurry from the water-insoluble portion to provide soybean milk and okara. The soybean milk and okara obtained possess a pleasant flavor and mild taste.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an animal box floor comprising facilities for the evacuation of excrement formed on the surface of the said floor (1), the said floor (1) being mounted above the facilities, such as a ditch, for the gathering of the excrement. According to the invention, the arrangement is characterised by the fact that the said facilities are comprised of at least a section of the said floor (1) which is inclined in relation to the surface of the said floor (1), towards an evacuation orifice (23) for the excrement, located in an approximately vertical plane and emptying onto the said facilities for gathering the excrement.
Abstract:
A surface decking or mat-like sheet material is provided having a lower surface with generally flat portions adapted to lie on a floor, ground or other generally flat surface, and an upper surface having a plurality of parallel spaced unidirectional recessed passageways separated by upwardly extending portions having spaced parallel unidirectional sides which also form the sides of said passageways, said recessed passageways having bottom portions extending between said parallel sides, the exterior sides of said bottom portions constituting said generally flat portions of said flat surface, said bottom portions containing a plurality of spaced openings extending through said lower surface, and said upper surface between said passageways containing a plurality of spaced openings having upwardly extending rims which act as bearing surfaces for animals, persons, or objects in contact therewith.
Abstract:
A bedding retainer which provides a more rigid construction by providing means which engage the surfaces of the walls of the gutter to the stall and which provides a means of protecting cables or the like that are required or exist in most modern barns by having a plenum between the skirt of the retainer and the surfaces of the walls of the gutter to the stall.
Abstract:
An enclosure structure for animals, such as livestock and poultry, which does not require removal of body waste material from the enclosure having a floor structure comprising a bed of loosely packed inert particulate material, such as sand, with an upper aerated layer containing aerobic bacteria and a lower water-permeated layer containing anaerobic bacteria; wherein the aerobic bacteria initially act on the body waste material deposited on the floor of the enclosure to decompose the waste substantially into products which filter down into the lower layer of the bed where the anaerobic bacterial substantially decompose the products. Means are provided for controlling the depth of the water in the bed and for aerating the upper layer of the bed.
