摘要: A patient transport apparatus with a base, a litter comprising a support surface, and a lift mechanism to facilitate arranging the litter at different heights relative to the base between a plurality of lift configurations including a fully-retracted configuration and a fully-extended configuration. The lift mechanism includes an actuator including a cylinder, fluid reservoir, and a pump driven by a motor to direct hydraulic fluid from the fluid reservoir to the cylinder. A sensor outputs a signal indicative of a magnitude of pressure in the cylinder. A user interface with an input control is provided. A controller determines a target parameter for the motor and, in response to user engagement with the input control, drives the motor at the target parameter to effect movement of the litter relative to the base at a predetermined rate irrespective of a weight of a patient supported on the litter.

摘要: An electric bed includes a base frame and a sliding unit. The base frame is provided with two parallel guide rails. Each of the two guide rails has a vertical wall, top and bottom walls extending respectively from top and bottom edges of the vertical wall, and a stopping wall extending upwardly from the bottom wall. The sliding unit includes a frame located above the two guide rails, and two slide portions disposed on a bottom side of the frame, and respectively and slidably disposed to the two guide rails in a way that the sliding unit is reciprocatingly slidable related to the base frame. As a result, a bed frame of the electric bed can slide towards the head of the electric bed when raising a user's back. The electric bed provides a sturdy and durable structure with a slight increase in weight.

摘要: The present invention relates to the reduction of tissue interface pressure. The present invention provides a method to immerse an individual to a desired depth into a support surface. The method of the present invention maintains a desired level of immersion over time independent of the motion of the individual or changes in the position of the support surface or externally applied loads to the support surface, alone or in combination. The method of the present invention is an improvement to using an individual's weight or height or other sensor to determine inputs to an algorithm for immersing the individual to a certain depth into the surface. No pressure measurements or displacement measurements are required in accordance with the present invention, and the height and weight of the individual is not required.

摘要: A foundation for a bed system can include a foundation structure having a head, a foot, a first side, and a second side. An air pump configured for supplying air to and inflating at least one mattress air chamber can be housed within the foundation structure proximate the foot of the foundation structure. A control box and a central power hub can be housed within the foundation structure. The central power hub can be electrically connected to and configured to deliver electrical power to each of the air pump, the control box, and one or more additional electrical components. The foundation can optionally integrate other components into the foundation.

An incontinence detection system may have circuitry to detect an incontinence event of the occupant. A controller may be configured to receive the data from the at least one monitor and to further receive data related to a time of the incontinence event. A remote device may be configured to receive an alert from the controller before a predicted time of a future incontinence event.
