摘要: A cable driven elevator system having an elevator platform with an integral motion system is provided using one or multiple actuators. Each actuator includes a support plate attached to the elevator platform, a planetary gearbox engaged with and driven by an electric servo motor, and a drive shaft driven by the servo motor and engaged with a one crank. Connecting rods are connected between the crank and a frame. The frame supports a passenger platform. A control system is operable with each electric servo motor of each actuator for providing a simulated motion to the passenger platform including a heaving (vertical) motion such that the vertical downward acceleration experienced by persons riding the elevator exceeds 1 g, by way of example. The motion system is also capable of directly imparting vibrations to the elevator platform of up to at least 100 Hz without additional vibration generating equipment.

Further, the disclosure generally relates to water-powered rides and to a system and method in which participants may be more involved in a water attraction. In some embodiments, an amusement ride system may include a rollable carrier. The rollable carrier may include an exterior rollable surface and an inner area. The inner area may include a participant container. In some embodiments, an amusement ride system may include a water path system. The water path system may function to substantially contain the rollable carrier such that the rollable carrier will remain in the water path system while rolling. In some embodiments, a rollable carrier may function to roll in a water path system while containing a participant in the participant container.

摘要: A pneumatic device for accelerating and decelerating one or more objects by introducing compressed gas through an injection valve into the bore of a housing. A piston is slidably mounted in the bore and has a cable attached to one side. The cable travels through an aperture near one end of the housing before passing over a first pulley and then connecting to a carrier which hold the object or objects. The cable is selected to be of a length such that the piston will not exit the open end of the bore, which is opposite to the end near where the aperture is located. This creates the possibility of operating the pneumatic device in two different modes. In the first mode, the pressure of the introduced gas is insufficient to propel the objects past the side of the first pulley that is opposite to the initial location of the objects. The force of the introduced gas accelerates the piston away from the end of the bore near the aperture, subsequently decelerates the piston after it has changed direction, and then begins the cycle again. When a greater pressure is utilized, the gas will accelerate the piston and the objects until they pass the first pulley; then decelerate the objects until they stop beyond the first pulley; subsequently accelerate the objects toward the first pulley, creating a perceived negative gravitational force if the movement is vertical; and then decelerate the objects after they have again passed the first pulley.

摘要: An air driven amusement ride propels a passenger vehicle upward along a guide cable out of an acceleration tube by a blast of pressurized air within the tube under the vehicle. Passengers experience a feeling of weightlessness and free fall from the time the vehicle exits the tube until it later re-enters, which can exceed ten seconds. The source of pressurized gas for the tube preferably includes a gas reservoir, a pump that raises the gas pressure in the reservoir at a predetermined pump rate, and a release that allows gas to flow from the reservoir into the tube at a rate substantially faster than the pump rate. Various mechanisms are disclosed to prevent the vehicle from over shooting the top of the ride and to limit the acceleration, including pressure relief valves in the acceleration tube, a pressure relief valve that extends through the vehicle itself, an emergency deceleration tube at the top of the guide cable with a pressure relief mechanism and emergency stops, and a system to adjust the acceleration pressure in accordance with the vehicle weight.
