摘要: A ride system in accordance with present embodiments includes a flume providing a flow path and one or more vehicles configured to accommodate one or more passengers and configured to move along the flow path in the flume. The ride system also includes one or more objects protruding into the flow path, wherein the one or more objects are positioned in the flow path such that the one or more objects are configured to contact a vehicle of the one or more vehicles as the vehicle moves along the flow path and at a contact location on an exterior of the vehicle, wherein the contact location is spaced apart a distance from a center of mass of the vehicle to change a direction or orientation of the vehicle after the one or more objects contact the vehicle at the contact location.

摘要: There is described a powered stage wagon comprising a chassis; rolling support structure mounted on the chassis for engagement with a surface over which the stage wagon is to move; and first drive member mounted on the chassis and in engagement with the surface. The drive member is adapted so as to be capable of being orientated in a first direction with respect to the chassis. The stage wagon also comprises second drive member mounted on the chassis and spaced from the first drive member. The second drive member is again in engagement with the surface and capable of being orientated in a second direction with respect to the chassis. Input member are provided for receiving details of a position to which the stage wagon is to move as are computing member for calculating a travel path to enable the stage wagon to move to the position. Finally control member are provided for controlling the first and second drive member so as to move the stage wagon along the travel path.

摘要: An object oriented approach to virtual motion programming utilizes generic motion identifiers such as "turn" and "accelerate" in combination with modifiers such as the start and end times, the magnitude, and the direction of the motion object to be simulated to construct universal generic motion descriptions of complex motion events. The minimal bandwidth requirements of this virtual motion programming approach enables use of MIDI communication standards for virtual reality show systems and interactive computer applications, including video games. A virtual motion controller receives generic motion descriptions and breaks down the descriptions into their constituent parts. The controller expands the generic motion identifiers into general acceleration profiles and processes the general acceleration profiles with the modifiers to generate ideal acceleration profiles that define the acceleration components for the generic motion description with reference to an ideal motion platform having unlimited mechanical movement. The controller is configured with artificial intelligence for learning the capabilities of a particular motion platform. The controller translates the ideal acceleration profiles into customized position commands for the motion platform based upon the controller's knowledge of the platform's capabilities. The controller is configured with an offset processor for optimizing the position of the platform for maximum simulation of an ideal acceleration profile in the future. Position processors configured with fuzzy logic convert the position commands from the controller into control signals for the actuator motors of the platform, and prevents the actuators from overextending.

摘要: The present invention relates to an amusement ride (1), such as a fairground attraction or an amusement park attraction. The attraction comprises a main carrier (10) rotatable about a first, substantially vertical axis of rotation (R1), a first drive for rotation of the main carrier about the first axis of rotation, at least one passenger carrier (20) which is rotatable about a second, substantially vertical, rotation axis (R2). The passenger carrier is attached to the main carrier at a distance from the first axis of rotation and has a second drive for rotation of the passenger carrier about the second axis of rotation. The passenger carrier is provided with one or more passenger carrier arms with a seat carrier (30) with one or more seats. Each seat carrier is rotatable about a third axis of rotation (R3), which is at an angle of substantially 30 to 70 degrees with respect to the second axis of rotation.

摘要: A motion simulator ride assembly including a motion base and a rider support assembly positioned beneath and coupled to the motion base. The rider support assembly includes a plurality of rider support units each including a saddle having a leading end, a tail end, and a superior surface that may support a rider in a facedown position and a restraint system that may secure the rider onto the rider support. The restraint system includes a rotating restraint having an attachment point on the saddle, and the rotating restraint may move relative to the superior surface to move the rotating restraint from an unrestrained configuration to a restrained configuration, and the rotating restraint may abut against a posterior surface of a torso of the rider when the rotating restraint is in the restrained configuration. The motion simulator ride assembly also includes a display screen that may project a simulated environment. The display screen is positioned below the motion base.

摘要: A motion assembly that produces pitch and roll motions includes lower and upper plates. A pivotable coupling having upper and lower shafts extending from its center is coupled between the upper and lower plates. At least two linear actuators are coupled between the plates. Extension and retraction of the actuators pivots the upper plate about the pivotable coupling relative to the lower plate. A vehicle includes two steerable propulsion wheels coupled to a chassis. A lower plate of a pitch and roll assembly, similar to that just described, couples to the chassis via a slew bearing. Seating is coupled to the upper plate. The seating rotates with respect to the chassis via controlled rotation of the slew bearing with reference to the chassis. The seating can be rotated to point in any direction with respect to the chassis regardless of the direction the steerable propulsion wheels move the chassis.
