摘要: A conveyor assembly insertable within a conveying system including a low friction conveying surface having both forward and lateral conveying forces for moving articles toward a parallel lateral sidewall and a downstream conveyor. A first diverging sidewall gradually converges parcels toward the center of the conveyor. An inwardly directed offset extends from a first diverging sidewall to a second lateral sidewall for shifting parcels inwardly toward a second lateral sidewall. A raised high friction conveying surface or rail belt extends along an outer edge of the low friction conveyor. At least a portion of the high friction belt is raised above the surface of the adjacent conveying surface in flow communication with the low friction conveying surface. Parcels contacting the high friction belt are prevented from shifting over toward the sidewall and parcels having a center of gravity outside the tipover point fall over the belt onto a recirculation conveyor.

摘要: A method for jogging bunches of standard-size documents of prescribed height mixed in with anomalous- size documents of lesser height, these standard-size documents to be shaken and tilted to register against a first-wall of a receptacle. This method also involving: relieving the first wall to form a cutout to pass only the anomalous-size documents; providing a second wall in the receptacle forward of the first wall; and shaking the documents so as to register the forward edges of the anomalous-size documents against the second wall after passing through the cutout.

摘要: An apparatus for sorting articles each having a predetermined thickness comprises conveying belt for carrying and conveying the articles in one direction and a first sorter provided through an interval substantially equal to a predetermined thickness of the article above a conveying belt for conveying the article conveyed in contact toward one side end of the belt to exclude from one side end of the belt and a second sorter provided through an interval substantially equal to a predetermined thickness of the article above the belt for conveying the article conveyed in contact toward the other side end of the belt to exclude from the other side end of the conveying surface of the belt. A pair of reconveying belts are provided under the both side ends of the conveying belt for reconveying the excluded article and a pair of resorters are provided above the reconveying belts for excluding an article having a predetermined thickness or larger of the articles conveyed by the reconveying belts.

摘要: An electrical apparatus for sorting products according to their lengths. In this apparatus the products are passed through a scanning zone which is provided with a light sensitive cell and a source of illumination arranged so that illumination of the light sensitive cell is interrupted while the product is passing through the scanning zone and an electric pulse is generated while the product is in this zone. This pulse is transmitted from the photocell amplifier to the toggle flip-flop which provides one input to an And gate in the circuit which controls the energization of the solenoid valves controlling the air blasts that deflect the product according to their lengths. This pulse is also transmitted from the photocell amplifier to a signal expanding device which controls a gate between an oscillation generator and an electronic counter so that pulses are transmitted from this generator through this gate to the counter for the duration of the expanded pulse to provide a measure of the product length. The expanded pulse is also supplied to delay circuit to provide a strobe pulse to the logic of this apparatus which supplies three outputs corresponding to the long, medium and short product lengths. These outputs are connected to separate product length flip-flops which are connected to the And gates provided to the circuit controlling the air blast control valves. Each of the And gates have a pair of inputs, one of which is supplied by the output of the toggle flip-flop and the other of which is supplied by the product length flip-flops. Thus, the And gates control which of the air blast solenoid valves is to be energized. If the long product flip-flop supplies a signal to the long product And gate then the long product air blast valve is opened and if the medium or short flip-flop supplies the control signal to the medium or short And gate then the medium or short air blast valve is opened.

摘要: This invention relates generally to a conveyor assembly for separating and aligning parcels, packages, bags and other articles prior to processing with a singulator. The stepped wall assembly includes a low friction conveying surface having both forward and lateral conveying forces for moving articles toward a lateral sidewall and a downstream conveyor. A series of offsets disposed between straight and diverging sidewalls force parcels toward the center of the conveyor against the lateral forces of the low friction conveying surface gradually separating and converging the parcels toward a selected sidewall of the conveyor and in line with a singulator apparatus.
