    摘要: A roller guide assembly is disclosed for guiding a workpiece into a roll pass of a rolling mill. The guide assembly comprises: a rigid housing structure; a pair of roller holders extending lengthwise of the housing structure on opposite sides of the intended direction of travel of the workpiece; guide rollers rotatably carried on the roller holders, the guide rollers defining a gap therebetween and being configured to engage and guide the workpiece into the roll pass of the rolling mill; pivots for mounting the roller holders on the housing structure for movement about axes extending generally parallel to the rotational axes of the guide rollers; springs for applying forces to the roller holders to rotate the roller holders about their respective axes in directions urging the guide rollers apart; and stops on the housing structure for resisting rotation of the roller holders, at least one of the stops acting through a force sensor to provide a measure of the force being applied to the respective roller holder.

    摘要: In a rolling method of rolling a material by front-stage rolling mill, a post-stage rolling mill and guiding rollers interposed therebetween. At first, a gap between the guiding rollers is set to a standard outer size of a standard material to be rolled by front-stage rolling rollers, and a standard embracing force formed by the guiding rollers at the gap is measured when the standard material passes therethrough. Then, a machine is operated, and a post outer size of a rolled material rolled by post-stage rolling rollers is measured. The post outer size of the rolled material is compared with a desired outer size of the rolled material. In case the post outer size of the material is smaller or greater than the desired outer size of the material, an embracing force of the guiding rollers during a rolling is compared with the standard embracing force. Then, the rollers are adjusted so that the post outer size of the material becomes the desired outer size.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for receiving and discharging bars. Adjacent parallel rotating drums receive bars in longitudinal advancement and discharge them by dropping them onto an underlying cooling bed in a rolling mill plant. Each drum is provided with four opposite channels rotating in unison. At first two bars are fed in logic succession into two adjacent channels of a drum and, then at least two bars are fed in logic succession into at least two adjacent channels of the adjacent drum, and while a drum receives its two bars, the other one rotates for discharging its received bars. The discharging occurs in two progressive steps. First, rotation of the drum through a certain angle for allowing the discharge of a first bar and then, further rotation of the drum to allow the discharge of the second bar.

    摘要: An assembly for producing a finished shape for a rod after the last rolling stage of a multi strand steel mill. This apparatus provides an operation for correcting minor surface irregularities and shape distortion of the rod as it exits from the finishing roll stand. The apparatus consists of four rollers mounted in an assembly which resembles a roller entry guide except that the rollers are capable of producing changes in shape of a work product passing therethrough. The orientation of the roller axis is slowly and constantly changed to prevent wear distortion of the rollers which may result when the rollers are required to roll a malformed product from fixed roller axes. The rollers may be driven in some circumstances.
