    摘要: A method for manufacturing a hollow rack bar having a flat portion thick enough, which prevents difficulty in pulling out a core after press working. The flat portion is formed by inserting the core having an approximately central depression in the longitudinal direction into a steel pipe and pressing the steel pipe from the outside by an upper and a lower dies. Subsequent to the formation of the flat portion, rack teeth are formed by placing the steel pipe in a tooth profile forming die and forcibly inserting a mandrel into the steel pipe.

    摘要: A technique for manufacturing a gear rack (5) for a rack-and-pinion steering gear for automobiles makes use of a blank (18) for the gear rack (5) having at least in the latter's toothed area a form deviating from a circular cylinder. Size and form of the cross-section of the blank (18) are selected in a manner that the contour of the finished gear rack (5) in the toothed area (7) does not project beyond the envelope given by the dimensions of neighboring parts of the rack-and-pinion steering gear. The gear rack (5) is formed from the blank (18) by means of tumble-forging. After tumble-forging, the gear rack (5) in its toothed area (7) outside the toothed section has a convex or concave longitudinal profile, which serves to support the tumbling torques during tumble-forging.

    摘要: A device and method for joining fitting parts provided with a passage opening on hollow profiles through partial expansion of the hollow profiles at the location of the fitting parts is provided. The fitting parts are slid on with the passage openings and are held in position by means of fluid high internal pressure expansion of the hollow profile. The device includes an expanding lance, which can be slid into the hollow profile and exhibits an axial borehole for the purpose of guiding the pressure fluid. The axial borehole is connected to a fluid high pressure generating system and exhibits a cross channel with an outlet for the pressure fluid in the direction of the hollow profile location to be expanded. The shell surface of the expanding lance exhibits sealing elements that are spaced apart and that define the outlet so as to seal axially on both sides against high pressure. To a reliable joining of the fitting parts on hollow profiles even when the hollow profiles exhibit small outer diameters, it is proposed that the expanding lance comprises two separate, aligned oblong components, of which at least one bears the axial borehole which empties freely on an end face near the outlet. The facing ends of the lance components form the cross channel for the axial borehole of the expanding lance. Furthermore, the device includes a drive unit operable to drive the two lance components into respective hollow profile ends, and are supported on an end side during the expansion phase.

    摘要: A method for producing an assembled shaft, especially an assembled camshaft, whereby parts, especially cams, are placed on a shaft in predetermined axial and peripheral positions and joined by compression pressure in a friction-tight manner. The cams in the thrust direction have a lubrication groove which surrounds the inner bore thereof and which is essentially wedge-shaped with a linear or curved slope, running in the direction of the wall of the bore. When the cam is slid on the shaft into the predetermined axial position, a lubricant is introduced into the groove. This lubricant is pulled continuously groove into the inner bore of the cam during the push-on process to significantly reduce friction between the inner bore and the shaft.
