    摘要: A molten magnesium material is filled into a product section of a die. The molten magnesium material is cooled and solidified in the die, so that a molded product is formed. Subsequently, a thread-shaped pin is rotated, so that a female-thread forming section is drawn from the female-thread section of the molded product while the female-thread forming section is rotated. Thus, the female-thread section can be formed when the molded product is formed. A magnesium-alloy material is not apt to stick to a steel material used in the die compared with an aluminum-alloy material, so that the female-thread section can be steadily formed.

    摘要: A cooling arrangement for uniformly cooling an entirety of a die-casting metal mold is provided. Cooling oil is supplied from temperature controllers (9, 10) by pumps (not shown) to respective coolant passages (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) through coolant supply circuits (5,6) and through manifolds (5B,6B) where the coolant is branched for cooling a predetermined portion of the metal mold (2). Then, the cooling oil discharged from the respective coolant passages (A,B,C,D,E,F,G) are returned to the temperature controllers (9,10) through coolant discharge passages (7,8) and is cooled by cooling device (11, 12). The cooled cooling oil is again supplied to the coolant supply circuits (5,6). The coolant passages (A through G) are grouped into two groups, and the temperature controllers and the coolant circulation circuits are also grouped into each group to perform coolant supply control and temperature control independently of each group.

    摘要: An investment casting process utilizes rapid cooling during solidification to achieve a desired final microstructure. A molten high temperature aluminum alloy is poured into a ceramic shell mold. The ceramic shell mold is then lowered into an oil bath held in a quenching tank to rapidly cool the molten material. Thus, solidification takes place quickly via rapid extraction of the latent heat of the metal by the quenching oil bath. The rapid solidification achieves a uniform fine microstructure in an as-cast component.

The castings are passed through a heat treatment station typically having a series of nozzles mounted in preset positions corresponding to the known indexed positions of the castings passing through the heat treatment station. The nozzles apply heat to the castings for heat treating the castings and dislodging the sand cores for removal from the castings.

    摘要: A baffle includes a base and a seal having flexible segments which engage a mold structure. The base of the baffle may have a noncircular opening in which article mold portions of the mold structure are disposed. The baffle may be connected with the furnace assembly before a mold is moved into the furnace assembly or may be connected with the furnace assembly as the mold is moved into the furnace assembly. A projection connected with the mold structure may be utilized to orient the baffle relative to the mold structure. The projection may be a thermocouple assembly which extends from the chill plate. Alternatively, the projection may be a portion of the mold structure itself.
