摘要: A caliper includes a hydraulic linking channel provided in a bridge section linking hydraulic cylinders, on an inner caliper section side, and hydraulic cylinders, on an outer caliper section side, to a cylinder-side hydraulic channel disposed on the back end of each respectively. A connecting channel forming section, which corresponds to each cylinder-side hydraulic channel and the hydraulic linking channel is provided, in advance, in a core used during casting of the inner caliper section, the outer caliper section, and the bridge section, and is formed by setting in a situation to be embedded at the same time as each caliper section and the bridge section are being integrally cast.

摘要: A method of integrating separately fabricated parts into a metal casting involves additively manufacturing a sand core having voids, inserting separately fabricated parts into the sand core, placing the sand core into a sand mold, and pouring molten metal into the sand mold to surround the sand core. Upon removal or the sand core and sand mold from the resulting casting, the separately fabricated or separately cast parts remain integral to the resulting casting.

摘要: A method for producing iron metal castings, wherein an expendable mold having a cavity for holding casting material is inserted into an opened multi-part permanent mold, the permanent mold is closed, the cavity is filled with casting material, wherein a supporting device partially protruding into the cavity is partially overcast, the expendable mold is cooled in the permanent mold after the filling, the permanent mold is opened during the cooling, after the liquidus temperature has been fallen below at the earliest, and the expendable mold is nondestructively removed from the permanent mold together with the casting, the expendable mold is further cooled together with the solidified casting while hanging on the supporting device, at least until the microstructure formation of the casting is concluded, the casting is demolded by removing the expendable mold.

摘要: A method of fabricating a two-component blade for a gas turbine engine, the method including in succession: obtaining a blade profile made of ceramic material having a hole passing right through the blade profile in its length direction so as to form a longitudinal channel opening out into a top cavity; positioning and maintaining the blade profile in a mold so as to form a bottom cavity communicating with the channel of the blade profile; casting molten metal into the blade profile so as to fill the top and bottom cavities and the channel interconnecting them; and cooling the metal so that the shrinkage of the metal cooled in the top and bottom cavities leads to the ceramic of the blade profile being subjected to compression prestress.

摘要: A casting mold assembly includes an airfoil defining section and a casting core. The airfoil defining section includes an outer mold wall and a direct-shelled inner mold wall. The direct-shelled inner mold wall is disposed within a forward chordwise portion of the airfoil defining section. The direct-shelled inner mold wall includes an aft end having an external radius measuring more than about 0.075 in. (1.9 mm). The casting core is secured within an aft chordwise portion of the airfoil defining section, and includes an aft end with an external radius measuring less than about 0.075 in. (1.9 mm). A cast component and a method for making the casting mold assembly are also disclosed.
