    摘要: A cylindrical blade body of a hole cutter includes blades and grooves. Each of the blades is disposed alternately with a corresponding one of the grooves. A cutting edge of each blade includes an outer cutting edge, an inner cutting edge, and a stepped cutting edge. The outer cutting edge of each blade has a point located at a radial outer position of the outer cutting edge. The inner cutting edge of each blade has a point located between the inner cutting edge and the stepped cutting edge. The heights of the points of the inner cutting edges are substantially equal for all blades. The heights of the points of the outer cutting edges are different among the blades. This hole cutter makes it possible to reduce anti-cutting resistance and obtain an optimal cutting state.

    摘要: A drill bit has an annular cutting edge to form a hole in a workpiece. The drill bit is received within a drill and rotated above 20,000 revolutions per minute. A distal end of the drill bit defines an annular edge surrounding a hollow cavity. The annular edge both cuts and melts the workpiece during formation of the hole. The drill bit also defines an exit hole passing perpendicular to an axial center of the drill bit. The exit hole and the hollow cavity join within an interior of the drill bit to form a material passage way. Core material cut from the workpiece is collected within the hollow area of the drill bit during operation. Rotational forces of the drill bit eject the core material thus allowing the drill bit to cut multiple holes without manually removing core material from the hollow cavity.

    摘要: A mandrel assembly is usable with a hole saw and a drill bit. The mandrel assembly includes a body having a shank portion and an adapter receiving portion. The adapter receiving portion defines an adapter receiving cavity and including a first wall having a first detent hole extending therethrough. The mandrel assembly further includes a bit coupler secured to the body. The bit coupler is located within the adapter receiving cavity and defines a drill bit receiving portion. The drill bit receiving portion includes a bit receiving cavity and a second wall having a second detent hole extending therethrough. The mandrel assembly further includes an adapter configured to be received within the adapter receiving cavity, the adapter having an externally threaded portion configured to meshingly engage with a set of internal threads of the hole saw, the adapter further having a first detent groove defined in an outer surface thereof. The mandrel assembly also includes a first ball detent located within the first detent hole of the body and is configured to be received within the first detent groove of the adapter. Moreover, the mandrel assembly includes a second ball detent located within the second detent hole of the bit coupler and is configured to be received within a second detent groove of the drill bit.

    摘要: A hole-saw assembly including a hole-saw having at one end a plurality of cutting teeth and at the other end two shafts. The assembly includes a mandrel coaxially aligned with said hole-saw and including a body having two bores therethrough coaxially aligned with said shafts. An annulus located on top of the body is coaxially aligned with said mandrel and hole saw and includes two holes, the annulus rotatable around its longitudinal axis from a first to a second position. In the first position the annulus holes are aligned with the bores and shafts allowing the shafts to be freely insertable and removable and in the second position the holes are misaligned to lock the shafts to the annulus. Such an arrangement allows the hole-saw and the mandrel to be easily and quickly mountable and demountable.
