    摘要: Ratchet tool (12) includes a head (12) and a ratchet mechanism for rotation about a first axis, includes a body (36) for carrying a tool element, a handle (18) coupled to the head for rotation about a second axis (30) perpendicular to the first axis, and allowing the handle (18) to move axially between first and second positions. A transmission includes a pinion gear (76) at one end of handle (18) and a ring gear (88) formed about the body (36). When the handle is in the first position the pinion gear (76) meshes with the ring gear (88) so that rotation of the handle (18) about the second axis (30) causes the body to rotate about the body to rotate about the first axis (24). When the handle is in the second position the pinion gear (76) is disengaged from the ring gear (88). Thus torque can be imparted to the body (36) to rotate a tool element carried thereby, by turning the handle about the second axis (30) when the handle is in the first position, or by moving the handle about the first axis (24) when the handle is in the second position.

    摘要: The present invention provides an apparatus that permits sections of tubulars to be connected to or disconnected from a string of pipe during a drilling operation. The apparatus further permits the sections of drill pipe to be rotated and to be axially translated during the connection or disconnection process. The apparatus further allows for the continuous circulation of fluid to and through the tubular string during the makeup or breakout process. The apparatus defines a rig assembly comprising a top drive mechanism, a rotary drive mechanism, and a fluid circulating device. Rotation and axial movement of the tubular string is alternately provided by the top drive and the rotary drive. Additionally, continuous fluid flow into the tubular string is provided through the circulation device and alternately through the tubular section once a connection is made between an upper tubular connected to the top drive mechanism and the tubular string.

The die insert has a gripping surface which comprises a backing surface adapted to contact the tubular member. The backing surface may be smooth or it may have a series of teeth formed thereon.     摘要: A pipe making and breaking apparatus having top, middle and bottom wrenches connected to a frame. A torquing cylinder operatively extends between the middle wrench and the frame and when actuated through one or more torquing cycles causes an upper pipe to make (top and middle wrenches) or break (middle and bottom wrenches) relative to a lower pipe. A grip hold actuator maintains the middle wrench in the gripping position continuously during the making torquing cycles. A continuous chain spinner above the top wrench spins the top pipe to make a position or away from a make position. The spinner can be a stand alone unit or can hang freely in the derrick or can be part of the make/break apparatus. A spinner drive chain motor when pressurized and when an oiler button is actuated causes lubricant to be sprayed out a nozzle on the (moving) chain. Windows (guide gates) and/or guide posts direct the chain so as to not bunch up against the casing sprockets.

    摘要: The invention described herein relates to hand powered tools which drive nuts, bolts, screws, and the like. The invention is a ratchet wrench wherein in a first setting a means to receive counterclockwise hand force and convert it into clockwise rotational driving force is provided. Said first setting also comprising a means to receive clockwise hand force and produce clockwise rotational driving force. Likewise, said ratchet wrench, when in a second setting, producing counterclockwise rotational driving force when clockwise hand force is applied and producing counterclockwise rotational driving force when counterclockwise hand force is applied. The result being that the ratchet drives the work twice as efficiently as prior art ratchet wrenches that rely on driving and slipping cycles when being cranked. By contrast, the present invention relies on cycles with two driving components each with opposite slipping cycles such that no net slipping occurs.
