摘要: A tubular running tool equipped with a mandrel having an elongated body with a longitudinal axis. The mandrel is configured with a plurality of offset stepped ramps. A plurality of slips are disposed on the mandrel with stepped ramps configured for complementary engagement with the mandrel offset ramps. The mandrel is configured for actuation to urge the slips radially outward for engagement of a gripping portion on the slips with an inner surface of a tubular. A method using the tool for running a tubular and providing a makeup torque.

摘要: Systems and methods for installing a coiled tubing pumping system in a well permit the use of a standard wellhead. A method for installing the coiled tubing pumping system includes the steps of connecting a continuous length of coiled tubing to the coiled tubing pumping system, lowering the coiled tubing pumping system and coiled tubing into the production tubing, and temporarily supporting the weight of the coiled tubing pumping system with an installation kit. The method continues with the steps of cutting the continuous length of coiled tubing to form a coiled tubing segment attached to the coiled tubing pumping system, attaching a deployment assembly to an upper end of the coiled tubing segment connected to the coiled tubing pumping system, and lowering the deployment assembly, the coiled tubing segment and the coiled tubing pumping system into the well until the deployment assembly lands on the seating element.

摘要: An offshore drilling vessel includes a floating hull subjected to heave motion. The hull includes a moonpool and a drilling tower near the moonpool. A drilling tubulars storage rack is provided for storage of drilling tubulars. The vessel includes a heave motion compensation support that is adapted to support a slip device while performing heave compensation motion relative to the heaving motion of the vessel. A racking device is provided with a heave motion synchronization system that is adapted to bring a tubular retrieved from the storage rack in heave motion into a vertical motion that is synchronous with the heave compensation motion of the string slip device. The racking device includes vertical rails and at least two separate motion arm assemblies mounted on said vertical rails. Each separate motion arm assembly includes its own vertical drive which is electrically connected to the heave motion synchronization system.

摘要: A method and apparatus for attaching tubulars to a tubular string in a well bore. The apparatus includes a drill rig elevator configured with a rotatable set of slips that grip the tubular to be added to the tubular string. As a result, the elevator can grip the tubular to pick up and position the tubular and can continue to grip the tubular as the tubular is spun to be threaded onto the tubular string in the well bore. The slips can also be moved axially to compensate for movement of the tubular toward the tubular string as the tubular threadingly attaches to the tubular string.

摘要: A jack and push/pull apparatus is provided by attaching to a wellhead an extendable/contractible horseshoe-shaped jack assembly of sufficient diameter to surround and act upon the tubing or casing to be manipulated in the well, the linear action of the assembly being powered between an extended and a retracted position, the assembly having at least one tube-gripping mechanism at the end of the assembly away from the wellhead attachment. Tubing is inserted into the well bore through the assembly and the wellhead, and when injection forces are desired tube-gripping means grip the tubing being injected and the apparatus is powered to a retracted position, forcing the grasped tubing into the well. The operation may be reversed to pull tubing or casing. The assembly can be simply added to the rig while tubing is present on and above the rig's floor.

摘要: A tubular handling apparatus including a tubular member running tool adapted to provide load-bearing, and preferably torquing, capacity upon the gripping of a tubular is provided. The running tool includes a slotted member having a plurality of elongated slots, a recessed member associated with the slotted member and having a plurality of recesses, and a plurality of gripping elements disposed between the slotted member and recessed member. Each such gripping element is adapted to move with an engaged tubular so as to grip the tubular. A tubular member elevator associated to the running tool, as well as related floor slips, are also encompassed. Methods of casing running are also included.
