    摘要: Disclosed is an improved method of cutting and separating a bent board into individual small divisions. Prior to the cutting and separating of the board into the individual chips the board is cut and separated into two or more pieces each large enough to have a reduced bend, compared with the bend of the board. Thus, each large division can be put and fixedly held on the chuck table of a cutting machine in stable condition, thus permitting the smooth, stable cutting of the large division into final small divisions.

    摘要: The invention applies to a diamond dresser consisting of a rotary symmetric body on whose circumference and/or face is applied randomly distributed diamond particles. It is the task of the invention to use simple means to reduce the abrasion on the circumference of the dresser, and thus to achieve a substantial increase in the operational life of the dresser. The invention holds that closely-spaced radial running grooves that stretch to the circumferential edge of one face of the dresser in which oblong diamonds are inserted and fastened, or that in the circumferential edge tightly-spaced radial recesses are formed into which oblong diamonds are inserted and fastened. These oblong diamonds are radially arranged and their ends protrude beyond the circumference of the rotary symmetric body. The oblong diamonds substantially reduce abrasion to the circumference of the rotary symmetric body. The oblong diamonds fit more closely into their metallic mount than do diamond particles, and because the oblong diamond mount is outside of the contact area of the abrasive grinding tool to be dressed and the dresser, and therefore the oblong metal bonding mount is better and more intensively cooled than the metal bonding the diamond particles themselves. Therefore, it is understandable that these oblong diamonds very effectively protect the otherwise earliest at worn circumferential area of the dresser from abrasion.

    摘要: The present invention provides a novel template which allows an installer to easily and quickly form accurate markings on a concrete brick so that the brick can be cut in a precise manner to be used in a driveway pattern, a sidewalk pattern, or the like. The template includes a frame and a planar plate. The plate has a plurality of slots formed therethrough. The template is positioned on a brick such that the plate sits on the top of the brick and the frame abuts against the sides of the brick. The installer then uses a marking tool to mark the desired cut or cuts by running the tool along the length of one slot or the slots. The template is then removed and the brick is cut accordingly.

    摘要: A straight, thin, monolithic abrasive wheel formed of hard and rigid abrasive grains and a sintered bond including a metal component and an active metal component exhibits superior stiffness. The metal component can be selected from among many sinterable metal compositions. The active metal is a metal capable of reacting to form a bond with the abrasive grains at sintering conditions and is present in an amount effective to integrate the grains and sintered bond into a grain-reinforced composite. A diamond abrasive, copper/tin/titanium sintered bond abrasive wheel is preferred. Such a wheel is useful for abrading operations in the electronics industry, such as cutting silicon wafers and alumina-titanium carbide pucks. The stiffness of the novel abrasive wheels is higher than conventional straight monolithic wheels and therefore improved cutting precision and less chipping can be attained without increase of wheel thickness and concomitant increased kerf loss.
