    摘要: An artificial stone laminate comprising a top single layer of particulates of substantially a single size, a rear layer of reinforcing fibers, and a binder is provided. The single size of the particulates is between 0.5 mm and 3 mm. Each of the particulates has an exposed top flat surface section area that is substantially the largest sectional area that can be exposed in the particulates. A single layer of particulates of uniform size is spread on a release surface. The single layer of particulates is vibrated whereby the particulates are packed closely, touch one another adjacently in a horizontal plane, and achieve high surface coverage. The layer of reinforcing fibers is placed on the single layer of particulates. A binder is deposited for filling the gaps between the particulates and bonding the reinforcing fibers to the particulates. After the binder cures, the surface of the single layer of particulates is polished.

    摘要: This invention relates to a novel stack of siding, comprising: first and second coated siding pieces comprising an outer topcoat layer, an inner decorative coating layer and a fiberboard cement substrate layer; and a liner positioned between the first and second coated siding pieces. The siding, during normal transportation and installation, retains an acceptable appearance that is substantially free of viewable scratches or mars. In more preferred embodiments, the outer topcoat layer of the siding has a thickness of at least 8 microns and comprises a polyurethane dispersion. The present invention also provides novel methods of pre-finishing a fiberboard cement siding product, comprising the steps of: providing a fiberboard cement substrate layer; coating a first major surface of the fiberboard cement substrate with a decorative coating; coating the exposed surface of the decorative coating with a topcoat layer; and curing the topcoat layer to provide an abrasion resistant siding. More preferably, the curing step comprises a process that does not require heating the siding to a board surface temperature in excess of 100° C.

    摘要: A modular stone panel is disclosed. The panel is adapted to be mounted or fastened to a structural wall to provide a stone wall facade therefor. The panel is generally comprised of a shaped backboard and a plurality of stones solidly fastened on a front face thereof. The backboard is adapted to be fastened to the structural wall such that the front face thereof faces away from the wall to provide the stone wall facade. The stones may comprise natural or synthetic molded stones. The backboard may also be ventilated to provide ventilation to the stones fastened thereto. The panels may be fabricated to provide key-cut edges allowing an interlocking of adjacent panels. A method of fabricating such panels is also disclosed.

    摘要: In a process for obtaining a composite panel of natural stone and glass, after preparing a slab of natural stone (10) and a glass sheet (20), a layer of hardening resin (32) is spread over a surface (10a) of the stone slab (10), the glass sheet (20) is arranged on top of said stone slab (10) inside an environment under vacuum conditions so as to allow the layer (32) of resin which is situated in between to harden completely. The process may be continued by applying a second glass sheet (24) onto the other surface (10b) of the stone slab (10) using the same procedure and by finally cutting the panel thus formed (50) along the mid plane so as to obtain two panels, each of which comprises a stone slab (10) and a glass sheet (20, 24).

    摘要: A building tile for covering a building surface includes a flexible backing layer having a rearward face for securing to the building surface and a forward face; and a flexible cement layer secured to the forward face. The tile preferably additionally includes adhesive material, where at least part of the rearward face is covered with the adhesive material for mounting the tile to the building surface. The flexible cement layer is preferably textured to be aesthetically appealing. The flexible cement layer preferably includes a mixture of a cement aggregate; an acrylic resin; a water-based paint; and a waterproof rubber material. The backing layer may be formed of laminate sheet material, peg board or formica sheet material. A process is also provided of manufacturing a building tile, including the steps of providing a flexible backing layer having a backing layer forward face and a backing layer rearward face; abrading the backing layer forward face; mixing an aggregate cement with an acrylic resin until a false set is reached; mixing into the aggregate cement and acrylic resin mixture a waterproof rubber material; and spreading the mixture over the backing layer forward face. The process preferably includes the additional steps of adding adhesive as needed to reach a mixture consistency suitable for spreading, coloring the mixture, texturing the mixture, and sealing the mixture using with a surface sealer.
