    摘要: A windshield repair device for repairing imperfections, in the form of bull's eyes, chips or cracks, induced by road hazards. The device comprises a first vacuum device for repairing relatively large imperfections, a second vacuum device for repairing relatively small imperfections adjacent the windshield periphery, and a platen to secure the second vacuum device to the windshield. The first vacuum device evacuates a relatively large area over a chip or crack and injects ultra-violet light-settable polymer resins into the evacuated imperfection. The second vacuum device is essentially the inner portion of the first vacuum device and is capable of evacuating a much smaller area. The second vacuum device is primarily useful either at the periphery of the windshield, or on areas of windshields having a high degree of curvature. The platen assists in holding the second vacuum device to the windshield.

    摘要: An apparatus including a treating container having at its inner lower portion a space for containing a charge of synthetic resin powder. An agitator is provided therein having an agitation blade means for spattering upwards the charged layer of synthetic resin powder. A metallic mold is provided thereabove closing an upper surface of the treating container. The metallic mold is provided with a downwardly directed molding mold surface for facing the charged powder layer. The mold surface thereof is arranged to be selectively heated or cooled at will. This invention is characterized in that a rotary frame is provided on one side of the treating container, at least two of the metallic molds are so disposed on the rotary frame as to be at rotationally symmetrical positions, and the treating container is so arranged as to be retreated outside the rotation loci of these metallic molds.

    摘要: There is disclosed a method for the imprinting and decorating rotomolded products. The method comprises the application to the interior surfaces of the mold of a viscous suspension of pigment in a preselected pattern. The suspension is applied to the mold surface in an oil carrier using a vegetable, animal or mineral oil that is inert under the molding conditions and that has a sufficient viscosity at the molding conditions to maintain the film on the mold surfaces. The pattern of the pigment suspension is applied by spraying, brushing, screen printing and the like and, after its application, the conventional rotomolding can be practiced. In this method, the powdered plastic, typically high density polyethylene, in powder form is charged to the mold, the mold is closed and placed in an oven heated to from 500.degree. F. to about 800.degree. F. while rotating the mold along two axes, to tumble the plastic powder against the heated side of the mold where the powder consolidates into an integral molded wall of a plastic shape. The invention provides a very high line or character definition preferably using finely subdivided pigments.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the production of thermoplastic substrate with fibrous surfaces. The fibers of these surfaces are formed by drawing away from a heated surface a molten polymer component backed by an unmelted polymer residue layer or substate. Simultaneous with the drawing, the nascent fibers are stabilized by cooling. For this purpose, cooling media are introduced in the fiber-forming zone. The thermoplastic polymer compounds should be applied in a thickness of at least 50 microns, and preferably 150 microns (when only 1 polymer forms the molten component), on a heated drawing surface of a drum or a conveyor belt apparatus.This invention relates to the production of fibrous surfaces on polymer substrates. Typically the substrates are in the form of webs. The use of webs makes the cooling process more efficient.

    摘要: Apparatus for the automatic preparation of samples for analysis comprises a tubular fusion furnace and a casting device. The furnace is horizontally disposed and permits introduction and removal of crucibles with samples through its two open ends. Transport equipment assures a periodical progression of the crucibles in the interior of the tubular furnace in successive and repeating states. The samples are agitated during momentary stops of the crucibles in their periodic progression.
