摘要： A thermal printer is loaded with a recording sheet package. The recording sheet package has a packaging body, which contains a stack of plural recording sheets. A loading engaging cutout is formed in the packaging body, and when the packaging body is set in an acceptable orientation relative to the printer, is engaged with a loading guiding projection of the printer, and allows mounting the packaging body on the printer. When the packaging body is set in an orientation different from the acceptable orientation, the loading guiding projection inhibits the packaging body by interference from being mounted on the printer.

摘要： A printer with a media feed apparatus bas a media tray with a surface for supporting a media stack. A wave drive mechanism has a pair of wheels, a belt looped around said wheels, and a plurality of freewheeling rollers. Each one of the freewheeling rollers has an axis attached to and moving with the belt. At least one of the plurality of freewheeling rollers makes contact with the top sheet in the tray while the belt moves the axis in a feed direction to shift the top sheet in the feed direction. A controller controls a bias force of the wave drive mechanism against the top sheet during the time that the wave drive mechanism moves the sheet.

摘要： The present invention provides a low profile stackable Internet appliance printer for use with a television receiver and monitor and responsive to commands from a remote device for printing user desired information. The printer has a box like rectangular shaped housing conforming in size to that of conventional electronic audio video components such as cable boxes, DVD players, amplifiers, video tapes and the like to facilitate the stacking of the printer with such other components. A base member supports in a front portion of the printer a printbar and associated printheads to provide the user with easy printhead head access. The base member has an open bottom for receiving a removable combination input/output tray cassette. Upon removal of the combination input/output tray cassette, front user access is made available for the purposes of removing a paper jam should one occur. A channel member mounted to the base member helps define a paper path from the cassette to a print zone disposed beneath the printbar. A U-shape cutout in the channel member further provides user access to the paper path for facilitating the removal of paper jams while the printer is in a stacked configuration with other electronic devices.

摘要： The present invention is embodied in a low-profile and narrow-width printer that has two rollers, a pick roller and a feed roller, and two roller motors. Each one of the two roller motors is used to drive one of the two rollers. As a result, a short gear train can be used to allow a longer paper path for enabling a low height printer. Also, a print media can be picked up from the input tray while another print media is being printed upon by an ink jet printhead or printhead. Thus, throughput of the printer can be enhanced when the printer is printing a multi-page document. Further, the printer straightens out print media that are skewed when picked up by the pick roller. Finally, the printer is able to locate a paper jam by using two sensors, one by the pick roller and the other by the feed roller.

The media loader insert includes an insert body which defines a reduced-size media receptacle configured to receive small-size media for insertion into the printer input port. The insert body has a width corresponding to the width of letter-size paper, and thus is sized to fit securely within a conventional input tray. A width adjuster is provided adjacent the reduced-size media receptacle, the width adjuster being positioned centrally along a side edge of the reduced-size media receptacle to centrally engage a side edge of media within the reduced-size media receptacle, thereby reducing media skew.

摘要： A tray for holding a stack of sheets of paper for feeding into a printer includes opposite paper guides one of which is adjustable relative to the other for varying the spacing between the paper guides. The adjustable paper guide is slideable across the tray and includes a releasable lock which engages the tray for locking the paper guide in position. The releasable lock is preferably a spring biased lever which includes a tooth that normally engages a rack in the paper tray until released by operation of the lever for the paper guide to be adjusted. As the paper guide is locked in position it cannot move away from its location during feeding of papers from the tray. The paper guide may also include a spring arm for applying a bias against the edge of the sheets of paper as they are fed from the tray to prevent them from skewing.
