摘要: An apparatus for transporting print medium through a printzone of a printing device. The apparatus including a print media movement mechanism configured to advance a first portion of a print medium through the printzone and a reciprocally translating vacuum platen downstream of the print media movement mechanism. The vacuum platen receives the print medium and conveys a remaining portion of the print medium through the printzone so that a printing mechanism can print at a bottom margin of the print medium.

摘要: A printer with a media feed apparatus has a media tray with a surface for supporting a stack of media sheets. A wave drive mechanism above the stack support surface has a media contact element operable to make contact with a top sheet of a media stack in the tray while moving in a feed direction to shift the top sheet in the feed direction. An encoder above the tray operates to detect motion of the top sheet. A controller may monitor the encoder to determine the speed of sheet motion, and set the speed of the wave drive mechanism to maintain the sheet motion above a threshold.

摘要: A printer with a media feed apparatus bas a media tray with a surface for supporting a media stack. A wave drive mechanism has a pair of wheels, a belt looped around said wheels, and a plurality of freewheeling rollers. Each one of the freewheeling rollers has an axis attached to and moving with the belt. At least one of the plurality of freewheeling rollers makes contact with the top sheet in the tray while the belt moves the axis in a feed direction to shift the top sheet in the feed direction. A controller controls a bias force of the wave drive mechanism against the top sheet during the time that the wave drive mechanism moves the sheet.

摘要: A printing apparatus with an index-feeding printing system having a first media path, a continuous feed finishing apparatus having a second media path, and a media buffer device having a third media path connecting between the first media path and the second media path. The third path may have a first portion communicating with the printing system, and a second portion communicating with the finishing apparatus, with the first and second portions merging with each other to form a common path portion terminating at a common path dead end, such that a media sheet from the printing system stops at the dead end and reverses direction for feeding to the finishing apparatus.

摘要: In an inkjet printer, the print head does not print images directly to the print medium. Rather, the print head prints the image to an intermediate transfer member, for example a transfer belt or drum. The transfer member then transfers the image to the print medium to produce the desired hard copy document. By printing to an intermediate transfer member and then transferring the image to the print medium, additional time is provided for the carrier fluid of the ink to evaporate or be absorbed by the transfer member before the image is transferred to the print medium. In this way, less carrier fluid is eventually deposited to the print medium than if the image had been printed directly on the print medium. Consequently, cockle formation is decreased.

摘要: A system and method for reliability assessment and prediction of end items is provided herein. A reliability assessment program (RAP) in accordance with the present invention provides a reliability assessment of the new equipment and/or parts designed for in-field use by assessing the similarities and differences between the new equipment and the predecessor equipment. Predecessor end item field failure data is collected and analyzed to compare the degree of similarity between the predecessor fielded end item and the new design. Based on this comparison, an appropriate method of assessment is determined, for example, a similarity analysis process or a failure cause model. Both methods use models for comparison and generate an appropriate report expressing the failure rate prediction of the new design and/or the mean-time-between-failure (MTBF).

摘要: A screening basket has one or more screen decks and has upright side walls integrated with cross beams. A side beam, at approximately the center of gravity of the basket, is integrated with each of the side walls as well as with the cross beams to provide a unitary, rugged basket capable of vibratory movement on a support frame. A pair of cross shafts extend transversely of the screening basket and project beyond the side walls. These shafts are journaled in the side beams and have one projecting end geared together for opposite rotation. These projecting ends carry eccentric weights of different mass to provide an oval vibratory stroke of the screening basket upon rotation of the shafts. Adjusting mechanism is provided to adjust the relative position of the weights on the shafts to vary the angle of stroke. These weights are arranged to receive auxiliary weights to vary the amplitude of vibratory stroke as well as the shape of the stroke. The screen decks include tensioning clamp mechanism on at least one end which also is adjustable for lateral alignment with the screening. The screen decks preferably comprise at least two sections with end and intermediate tensioning clamp mechanism. These screen sections are supported on cross beams in turn supported on end bars pivotally mounted centrally thereof to the side walls of the basket to conform precisely to the contour of the underside of the screen.

摘要: A media advance device includes a pick roller and a pair of sensors. The first sensor may be an encoder utilized to determine the speed of media advance. In addition, data from the first sensor and/or the second sensor may be utilized in a closed loop feedback system to alter the time in which an error signal may be returned according to the level of the media in the media tray. In addition, the speed of the media advance may be varied in real time to compensate for variations in the time intervals required to advance sheets of media from the media tray to the second sensor. By virtue of the detected speed of media advance as sensed by the first sensor and/or the second sensor, the level of media in the media tray may be calculated in a substantially accurate manner.

摘要: Wood golf club heads are first subjected to a vacuum and then immersed in a solution of resin while under a source of vacuum condition. The heads are then subjected to an elevated pressure. The pressure is then removed and the heads dried. Apparatus for effectively carrying out the process utilizes a treatment chamber arranged to receive one or more of the heads. This chamber is associated with vacuum and elevated pressure supply apparatus to selectively subject the chamber to vacuum or pressure. A resin chamber is supported on top of the treatment chamber and has a valved conduit for controlling the supply of resin introduced to the treatment chamber.
