摘要： A printing apparatus according to an embodiment includes: a conveying device which conveys a record medium in a conveyance direction; a cutter which cuts out the record medium; a printing unit which prints an image on the record medium; a mark detector which detects a reference mark indicating a page start position of the record medium; a receiver which receives record medium type information; and a controller which, based on a content of the record medium type information, switches a cut position to be cut with the cutter between a first position being a position upstream in the conveyance direction by a predetermined one-page length from the page start position and a second position being a position shifted in the conveyance direction by a prescribed length from the first position.

摘要： An accounting machine comprises an automatic printing device controlled by a store which emits during a data transfer period a group of code combinations each adapted to select the type to be printed. The printing device includes a one-cycle clutch adapted to be engaged each time for printing the selected type. A locking element is actuated by a synchronizing electromagnet throughout the said transfer period in such manner as to lock the clutch in the engaged position, whereas the code combinations are called up synchronously to cause the synchronous printing of the corresponding characters. To actuate the spacing mechanism repeatedly by a particular code combination, a second one-cycle clutch is conditioned by a second electromagnet to continuously actuate the mechanism.

摘要： When an enlargement print key is pressed, a label producing apparatus enters a mode for setting the enlargement magnification used for enlargement printing. Next, a number key is operated to actually set the enlargement magnification. After the creation of print image data, respective data are taken from a table in which the respective data about widths of printing tapes, the number of printing tape segments based on width of tape and enlargement magnification, and "an enlargement start bit position," "an enlargement end bit position," "an enlargement work start bit position 1," "an enlargement work start bit position 2" and "the number of shifts for adjustment" with respect to each tape width which have been specified to thereby create one-dot string data. When it is desired, for example, to scale up and print data associated with a 12-mm tape width in 3.times. magnification, the enlargement print data is printed on the corresponding printing tape by being divided into three at 12-mm width intervals. Thus, the divided printing can be performed using a plurality of segments of the printing tape having a width that is less than the character size to be printed.

摘要： The inventive ink jet printing system is driven from a repertoire data storage medium such as perforated tape or cards, magnetic tape or cards, or the like, on which the stored data may be changed, updated, increased or decreased, or deleted in whole or in part. The data read from this storage medium is fed into a microprocessor which directs a ganged multiplicity of ink jet printing heads, to simultaneously printout a plurality of lines of type. A transport mechanism picks up and feeds paper, magazines, or the like through a printing station where the ganged ink jets print out responsive to the data supplied from the repertoire storage medium. A number of housekeeping functions are carried out simultaneously, to insure that ink is delivered to and collected from the nozzles of the printing heads.
