摘要： A parallel printing apparatus for data recorded in a store comprises a set of type wheels sequentially set up by a setting wheel, which is transversely moved step by step and is variably rotatable according to the code recorded for each type wheel. The setting wheel is rotated through a clutch which is held engaged under the control of a step counting device sensing a toothed wheel rotated synchronously with the setting wheel. The apparatus is adapted to print on a bank book both parallel and perpendicular to the seam of the book. The book is carried by a carriage, the line spacing of which is effected under the control of a program device.

The printer comprises printing engine for performing a printing process based on page data and a page data preparing section for preparing page data on printing data input from the external device. The control section supplies the printing engine with page data from selected one of the page data preparing section and the external memory based on the selection.

摘要： A memory cartridge for use with a printer, a copier, a word processor and other electronic equipment as an external memory. A connector corresponding to that of the equipment is provided on one end of a casing which accommodates a printed circuit board, which is loaded with memory devices. A plurality of memory cartridges may be connected to a buffer of the equipment via the individual connectors. A grounding plate for making contact with a grounding portion of the printed circuit board is disposed on the memory cartridge close to the connector. This reliably connects the memory cartridge to ground. Further, since which one of the memory cartridges is selected can be determined, it is not necessary for the equipment to be provided with buffers and related circuits in one-to-one correspondence to the memory cartridges.

摘要： A dot-matrix printer of the invention uses a font cartridge unit storing in advance character pattern data corresponding to characters other than standard characters. The font cartridge unit comprises a ROM or RAM storing character pattern data in a storage area in units of pages. A CPU sets a given page address in a page address register in the font cartridge unit in the case of dot printing of characters other than standard characters. The CPU reads out desired character pattern data from the storage area of the ROM or RAM corresponding to the preset page address, and stores the readout data in a work memory. A printing mechanism controller controls a printing mechanism including a print head in accordance with the character pattern data stored in the work memory so as to execute dot printng of, e.g., high-density characters other than standard characters.
