摘要: An approach is provided for balancing a pressure profile of a spreader nip formed by a first roller and a second roller within a print system. A line parallel to a target process direction is determined. One of an inboard side and an outboard side of the spreader nip is loaded with a first variable force. The other one of the inboard side and the outboard side of the spreader nip is loaded with a second variable force. The inboard side and the outboard side of the spreader nip are then separately loaded by a first balancing force and a second balancing force to cause a substrate passing through the spreader nip to track in a direction such that a side edge of the substrate remains parallel to the line parallel to the target process direction.

摘要: A printing system includes a lithographic plate information printing unit, a variable information printing unit, and a control component. The lithographic plate information printing unit prints lithographic plate information on a recording medium using a lithographic plate. The variable information printing unit prints predetermined variable information on the recording medium on which the lithographic plate information is printed by the lithographic plate information printing unit. The control component controls so that the lithographic plate information to be printed by the lithographic plate information printing unit and the variable information to be printed by the variable information printing unit are printed in preset correspondence with each other.

摘要: A method and computer program product for controlling application of ink in a printing press include predefining a setpoint color value in a device-independent color space. An ink metering element is activated with an ink application value, producing an ink layer thickness, on printing material, associated with the setpoint color value. An actual color value from the ink layer thickness on the printing material is determined, measured or colorimetrically measured in the device-independent color space. Activation with a changed ink application value based on deviation of the actual color value from the setpoint color value, produces an ink layer thickness differing from the produced ink layer thickness. A necessary ink layer thickness change is calculated based on changes in the color values in the device-independent color space upon a change in the ink layer thickness at the point of the actual color value, to determine the changed ink application value.

摘要: A method for pre-registration in a printing machine with multiple printing units in which phases of the printing cylinders involved in the printing process are so mutually attuned that the deviations of the printing images of the different printing cylinders lie within mutual capture areas, includes using the deviations in the context of the registration of an ongoing printing operation, respectively, for the determination of the position of the printing images or parts thereof. The web to be printed, which is fed during the pre-registration to the printing machine, has at least one mark, which passes through different printing units during the pre-registration. The time points at which the mark passes the measuring points in the printing units are recorded, and these time points are set with reference to the angular position of the printing images of the respective printing units at those time points.

摘要: A method for monitoring and analysing the printing process of a press includes both measured data which reproduce or influence the quality of the printed product and measured data which reproduce the state and consumption of the press or its parts are acquired. To monitor and analyse the printing process, the acquired measured data are placed in a relationship with one another, so that the printing process can be monitored effectively via new data produced as a result.

摘要: A data recorder for imprinting indicia from an embossed printing plate and variable indicia wheels onto a form includes a bed for retaining the form, the embossed printing plate, and the variable indicia wheels. On each variable indicia wheel, the indicia characters alternate with notches about the circumference of the wheel, one of the notches registering with a detent wedge carried on a pivotable detent arm. A platen carrier supported on wheels engaging tracks below the bed is manually moved across the bed, the wheels depressing an actuator extending into the track area and causing the detent arms to pivot and engage the notches of the indicia wheels. The presentation of the indicia wheels is controlled by manually slidable selectors which are resiliently maintained in set positions by means of detent pawls which are urged into engagement with teeth on the selectors by means of parallel springs, one end of each spring secured to each detent. The other end of each spring is fastened to a bail which is normally maintained in a spring-tensioning positioning by engagement with a slide riding on rails, providing maximum detent action on the selectors. The slide which is moved by a crank secured to the platen carrier includes a pivoting return latch which engages a pick-up on each selector only on the return stroke of the platen carrier, and returning all selectors to zero. Because the slide is disengaged from the bail during the return stroke of the platen carrier, the return latch acts against a decreased detent force on the selectors, thereby minimizing the manual force required to operate the platen carrier during the imprinting operation.
