    摘要: A controller, upon a web roll being set on a web roll support shaft: drives a brake to apply a braking force of a first value to the web roll support shaft, the first value being a value at which the web roll does not rotate when a predetermined tension is applied to a web, and drives a conveyance motor to generate a drive force for the predetermined tension; drives the brake with the drive force generated to gradually reduce the braking force from the first value while determining whether rotation of a conveyance roller starts; and upon determining that the rotation of the conveyance roller starts, determines a second value of the braking force as an initial value of the braking force in conveyance of the web for printing, the second value being a value at which the rotation of the conveyance roller starts.

    摘要: In a method to damp an oscillation of a roller driven via a drive in a printing system, a printing substrate web is directed across the roller, the roller and the printing substrate web forming a system capable of vibrating. With the drive the roller is driven with a predetermined nominal moment. With a sensor, a real value is determined of a variable representative of a velocity with which the printing substrate web is transported by the roller. In aid of a predetermined calculation rule, a correction moment is calculated from the determined real value such that a damping of the vibration-capable system results like a mechanical viscous damper. The correction moment is added to the predetermined nominal moment upon activation of the drive.

    摘要: A method for reducing tension fluctuations in a web while printing multiple copies of a print job on the web comprises providing a printing system with a print station one or more rollers adapted to receive tension control commands. The tension control commands operate on the rollers to control the amount of tension in the web. The printing system is used to print a first copy of the print job. Tension changes produced during the printing of the first copy of the print job are measured. First tension control adjustments based on the measured tension changes are used to adjust the tension control commands to the rollers in the printing system for printing a second copy of the print job, thereby reducing tension fluctuations.

    摘要: A system for using tension control adjustments on a web to reduce registration errors while printing multiple copies of a print job on the web comprises a printing system with a print station disposed opposite a first side of the web and one or more rollers adapted to receive tension control commands, the tension control commands operating on the first rollers to control the amount of tension in the web. A sensor is used to determine a plurality of registration errors produced during the printing of the first copy of the print job. A processor is used to determine first tension control adjustments based on the plurality of registration errors and to use the adjustments to adjust the tension control commands to the rollers in the printing system to change the tension in the web when printing a second copy of the print job, thereby reducing registration errors.
