摘要: The present invention relates to a servo controlled stitching apparatus that comprises a servo controlled wire pulling means (4) for pulling the required length of wire for stitching bunch of paper sheets. Said pulling means (4) comprises pulling roller (11) having wire retaining groove (11a) for guiding wire extending from the spool (2) towards the stitching head (1). It also comprises pressure roller (13) that rotates against pulling roller (11) for pulling the wire (16) from the spool (2). The length of wire to be pulled is predefined in the controller means which is communicated with the servo motor (7) that rotates said rollers (11, 13) until the predetermined length of wire is pulled. The stitching head (1) utilize the wire (16) of pulled length without rotating the spool itself to avoid pulling load and to apply even stapling on the bunch of paper sheets.

摘要: Sheet-like material articles are gathered in gathering pockets which move along a path in a horizontal direction. The sheet-like material articles are conveyed in a shingled stream adjacent the path. On each of the gathering pockets a deflector is actuatably arranged. The deflector intercepts the leading edge of a respective sheet-like material article while in the shingled stream. The sheet-like material article is deflected into a gathering pocket.

摘要: The retaining device of a wire-section dispenser has a tongue-like first retaining element and a second retaining element which form boundaries for a gap. The second retaining element can be moved out of a rest position into a clamping position, which narrows the gap, and back again. When the second retaining element is located in the rest position, a stapling wire is advanced into the gap and then fixedly clamped by displacing the second retaining element into the clamping position. A cutting element, which severs the continuous stapling wire into wire sections, is synchronously moved with the second retaining element. The staple guide of a stapling head engages with its carry-along member, the wire section and moves it in the direction of rotation, overcoming the retaining force in doing so.

摘要: A new gathering and stitching machine (10) and a new method for operating a gathering and stitching machine (1) are proposed, which make it possible to drive in the staples (K) in a positionally correct manner and to close them satisfactorily even in the case of relatively short staple setting times. This is achieved by the novel control of the position of the staple heads (20) and the saddle-shaped supports (2, 30, 40, 50) in the region of the interaction during stapling. It is an essential feature of the present invention that the staple head (20) and the support (2, 30, 40, 50) are pivoted towards one another in such a way that they come to lie within a common stapling plane (H). This means that the saddle plane which is defined by the pivoting axis (S) of the saddle-shaped support (2, 30, 40, 50) and the support edge (13) and the staple-head plane which is defined by the pivoting axis of the staple head (20) and the ram tip are superimposed on one another in the region of the interaction and for the duration of the interaction and define what is known as the stapling plane (H).
