Abstract: A binding tool for paper sheets includes a base member extending in a longitudinal direction; and a plurality of first binding members and second binding members each having a base end portion formed protruding outward in a width direction from the base member and a tip end portion integral with the base end portion and curved inward in the width direction so as to be movable between a binding position where the tip end portions contact each other and an open position where the tip end portions are separated from each other by a prescribed distance. The base end portions are positionally displaced from each other by at least an amount corresponding to a thickness TH of the base end portion in the longitudinal direction when the tip end portions positioned facing each other in the width direction are in contact with each other in the binding position.

Abstract: The present invention provides a single-detent binder for holding loose-leaf paper sheets, which mainly includes a housing, one pair of symmetrically elongated baseplates, ring shaped components, a control component, and a pull rod. The control component is operable to move the rings for performing the locking and unlocking function. As the handle forms an essential and irreplaceable part of the whole mechanism, embodiments of the present invention disclose a single-detent binder with the control component constructed in a way to improve the durability of the internal components.

Abstract: A method for assembling a single-detent binder includes assembling ring shaped components and first and second baseplates to a housing. The first and second baseplates are longitudinally adjacent and parallelly arranged and connected to each other. The first and second baseplates include adjacent longitudinal edges and non-adjacent longitudinal edges. The first and second baseplates are so assembled as to pivot around the adjacent longitudinal edges in order to open or close the ring shaped components. The ring shaped components each include two half ring shaped elements. The half ring shaped elements each are fixed on the first and second baseplates and pass through the housing. The half ring shaped elements occlude to form a closed ring, and the half ring shaped elements disjoin to form an opened ring. The method further includes assembling the control component to the housing, rotatively connecting at least one rotary locking piece to a pull rod, rotatively connecting the rotary locking piece to one of the first and second baseplates, and operatively connecting the pull rod to the control component. The control component includes a handle, which enables the control component to rotate relative to the housing. Assembling the ring shaped components and the first and second baseplates to the housing are performed simultaneously with rotatively connecting the rotary locking piece to the pull rod.

Abstract: A ring binder mechanism includes a housing, a ring support, and rings for holding loose-leaf pages. Each ring includes a first ring member and a second ring member that are moveable between a closed position and an opened position. An actuator is mounted on the housing for moving the ring members from the closed position to the opened position. A travel bar has at least one locking element and is moveable between a locked position wherein the ring members are locked in the closed position and an unlocked position wherein the ring members are capable of being moved to the opened position. An intermediate connector operably connects the travel bar to the actuator. A portion of the intermediate connector is captured by and moveable with a wide section of a mounting groove in the travel bar so the intermediate connector can move relative to the travel bar.
