Abstract:
A slide-type writing instrument having a drying-prevention device. The slide-type writing instrument includes a pen housing (10); a button clip part (20); an ink holder (30) having a cam protrusion (70); a sealing member (40) including a cover (41) and a fixing cap (45); a spring member (50); and a guide member (60) configured to guide the cover (41). The sealing member (40) includes an inner soft tube (40a) formed of a soft material and in the shape of a hollow tube, and an outer hard tube (40b) formed of a hard material and in the shape of a hollow tube and externally surrounding the soft tube (40a). The soft tube (40a) and the hard tube (40b) are coupled to each other to form a dual cross-section structure, and a lower end of the soft tube (40a) further extends than a lower end of the hard tube (40b).
Abstract:
Various multicolor writing tools and methods for applying multiple volatile marking substances one at a time. The tool includes a case member, a cartridge member, a cap member, and an optional actuator member. The case member forms an interior in which is disposed the cartridge member with multiple cartridges each containing one of the marking substances and a tip through which the marking substance is applied. The cap member changes and restores its configuration, while the actuator member changes the configuration and exposes one of the tips selected by an user out of the interior when the tool is in use, and then restores the configuration and encloses all of the tips inside the interior when not in use. Thus, the tool opens the cap member in response to input force without requiring the user to engage in a separate maneuver to remove the cap member.
Abstract:
A current collector for an electrochemical cell. The current collector comprises a polymer support film having a surface. The current collector also comprises a conductive metallic layer on at least a portion of the surface of the polymer support film, the conductive metallic layer having a first thickness. The current collector further comprises a protective metallic layer on the conductive metallic layer. The protective metallic layer has a second thickness less than the first thickness and is adapted to protect the conductive metallic layer against corrosion. Also provided are a method of manufacturing such a current collector and an electrochemical generator comprising such a current collector.
Abstract:
A writing instrument comprises nonretractable nib 14 made of porous material and being in fluid communication with an ink reservoir of fluorescent transparent ink, the nib colloquially known as a "highlighter". A second nib 16 is retractable and is substantially rigid and is in fluid communication with a second ink reservoir of nontransparent ink, the second nib colloquially known as a "ball point pen". The retractable and nonretractable nibs extend from an angular face of an elongated body in which they are contained. The angular face permits the nonretractable and retractable nibs, which are in parallel relation, to extend in spaced relations so that the retractable nibs extends beyond the nonretractable nib whereby the nonretractable nib does not contact the writing surface when the retractable nib is used as writing instrument. The extension and retraction of the retractable nib is accomplished with a slidable locking mechanism which allows a user to extend a retractable nib with a single finger motion without altering the writing angle or rotating the instrument in his hand, as in the prior art.
Abstract:
A writing implement including a sleeve-shaped housing and an automatic closure mechanism for the nib. The actuating element has a shift mechanism 3', the spring 10 biasing the writing element 2 against the housing bears on the inner sleeve 104, that the shift mechanism 3' engages the outer sleeve assembly 41, that the return force of the spring 10 biasing the writing element 2 against the inner sleeve 104 is smaller than that of a spring 9 which biases the inner sleeve 104 against the outer sleeve assembly 41. Additionally the actuating element consists of two actuating members displaceable axially with respect to each other, of which the first actuating member 120 acts on the intermediate sleeve 104 and the second actuating member 108 acts on the writing element 2, carries the shift mechanism 3' and is actuated by the first actuating member 120.
Abstract:
A push-button type writing instrument is constructed of a refill received within a barrel slidably in the axial direction, a writing part receiving mechanism provided at a forward end portion of the refill, and sealing means provided with the writing part receiving mechanism for sealing a writing part. Owing to the provision of the sealing means, the ink of the writing instrument is kept free from evaporation and flow while the writing part is received within the barrel.
Abstract:
A writing instrument such as a ball point or felt tip pen is provided with a seal member selectively engageable with the writing tip, the sealing member being movable from a position plugging the pen through hole to a position allowing the front end of the writing member to freely pass through the through hole for writing.
Abstract:
A flexible shield comprising a piece of flexible material shaped to fit into and be attached to the interior of the barrel of a retractable tip pen in proximity to the tip and having a central aperture which may comprise cross slits whose edges are adapted to move away from each other to expand the aperture when the tip is emitting from the barrel and to return to normal substantially closed position over the tip when the tip is retracted into the barrel to perform the dual function of inhibiting the passage of air to dry out the tip and to wipe the tip free of accumulated liquid build-up or dust.
