AFTER THE PHOSPHOR SCREEN IS FROMED, THE SEALING LAND OF THE FACEPLATE PANEL SECTION IS DIPPED IN A LIQUID CLEANING BATH WHICH IS ULTRASONICALLY AGITATED TO REMOVE RESIDUE FROM THE SCREEN FORMING PROCESS FROM THE SEALING LAND. THE SEALING LAND IS THEN RINSED WITH DEIONIZED WATER AND VACUUM DRIED. THE FACEPLATE PANEL SECTION IS THEN READY TO BE FRIT SEALED TO THE OTHER ENVELOPE SECTION CONTAINING AN ELECTRON GUN SYSTEM, COMPLETING THE MANUFACTURE OF THE CATHODE-RAY TUBE.

    摘要: Ink receptive convertible films suitable for use in copying systems or projection slides are prepared by coating the surface of a transparent film with a fusible polymer material such as polyvinyl acetate with a pore forming agent such as ammonium carbonate. The polymer containing the pore forming agent to volatilize and render the film porous, and ink receptive. The film is then readily printed with a conventional ink after which the nonprinted portion of the opaque coating is rendered transparent through the application of heat and/or pressure, or the action of solvent vapors. The printed matter substantially retains the print quality it possessed during the ink receptive opaque stage.

    摘要: A cathode-ray tube including, on its viewing surface, a glarereducing coating composed of a lithium silicate material and carbon particles. The novel method comprises: (a) warming the surface of a glass support to about 30* to 100*C, (b) coating the warm surface with an aqueous solution containing about 1 to 10 weight percent of a lithium-stabilized silica sol and a sufficient proportion of carbon particles to produce the desired reduction in light transmission, (c) drying the coating, and then (d) heating the dry coating at about 150*C to 300*C.
