    摘要: There is described a hi-rail device comprising a cam assembly, an axle assembly and a locking pin. The cam assembly comprises a guiding slot which comprises a plurality of contiguous segments extending as a broken line, e.g., in a flattened M shape, wherein a first one and a last one of the contiguous segments extend in a downward slope with respect to a horizon. The locking pin inserted in the guiding slot and movable in translation within the guiding slot in which it is inserted. The axle assembly, in which the locking pin is inserted, has a weight applied on the locking pin which locks the locking pin in the lower end or the upper end of the guiding slot if the locking pin is in the first one or the last one of the four contiguous segments and no other force is applied thereonto.

    摘要: A set-off apparatus for moving a railway carriage transversely off the track includes eight vertically adjustable jacks arranged in four pairs. Two of the jacks of two of the pairs are arranged in each corner of the railway carriage frame, and two pairs of jacks are arranged at each frame end, one of the pairs of jacks being stationary with respect to the frame and the other pair of jacks being displaceable with respect to the frame in a direction extending transversely to the track. A horizontally extending, double-acting cylinder-piston device is arranged for displacing each other pair of jacks transversely whereby the carriage may be transversely set off stepwise while supported in a stilt-like manner.

    摘要: A transfer wheel assembly is provided for mounting on disabled railway vehicles to enable the disabled vehicle to be safely moved. The transfer wheel assembly includes a pair of transfer wheels for mounting on a pair of rails. Each wheel is rotatably mounted to a support frame. The support frame, in turn, is mountable on the truck of the disabled vehicle. The support frames are connected to one another by a spreader bar which maintains the proper spacing between the support wheels.

    摘要: A railroad car is equipped with air release means in air flow communication with the car train pipe that is normally provided for connection with the air brake train line of a railroad train. Activators for the air release means are associated with respective sets of wheels, at opposite sides of respective wheel trucks of the car and at a height which will clear the corresponding rails of the railroad track during their travel but in positions to engage such rails upon derailment of any corresponding car wheel for operating the air release means, whereby the brakes of the train will be applied automatically upon any derailment. A novel air release valve with activator is preferably employed at respective opposite sides of respective wheel trucks as the air release means.

    摘要: A locked-axle spring compression system and method configured to raise a rail vehicle wheel off a rail and transport the raised wheel along a rail is presented. In one embodiment, the present disclosure discloses a system that can raise the locked-axle rail wheel off the rail and allowing the locked-axle train to be transported off the main line. One or more coil springs can be disposed between the truck frame and the journal box to distribute the weight of the train and forces acting thereon. The present disclosure provides a technological solution missing from conventional systems by at least providing a platform for an actuator configured to exert a force on one or more train elements to compress the coil springs and allow the locked-axle wheel to be raised off a surface (e.g., railroad track rail), by overcoming the coil spring pressure to raise the wheel off the rail.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of re-railing a rail car involving the use of one or more extendable arms carried by each individual rail car is provided. The extendable arms may be operable to extend outward from the rail car and then lower an extendable foot to contact the ground, thus allowing the car to be raised into position back over the rails of the associated train tracks utilizing these extendable arms. Since the arms are compact and carried by the rail car themselves, there is no time lost while lifting equipment is brought in and cars may be quickly and efficiently re-railed to minimize the overall time loss of the associated train tracks.
