Abstract: A deck preservation system includes an elongated one-piece deck board cap top cover for a deck board, adapted for a secure coupling to a top surface of the deck board to cover the top surface; a first cap side, with at least one first fin, integrally formed with the top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; a second cap side, with at least one second fin, integrally formed with the top cover and extended downwardly and adapted for a secure coupling to a board side of the deck board; wherein the first cap side and the second cap side are opposed to one another; and an inverted channel profile integrally formed and defined by the deck board top cover and first and second cap sides to cover and protect the deck board.

Abstract: A network management system includes a user interface, a virtual network and a device communication manager. The virtual network includes models which represent network entities and model relations which represent relations between network entities. Each model includes network data relating to a corresponding network entity and one or more inference handlers for processing the network data to provide user information. The system can poll or communicate with certain network entities and can infer the status of network connectors and other network entities for which polling is impossible or impractical. The system performs a fault isolation technique wherein the fault status of a network device is suppressed when it is determined that the device is not defective. User displays include hierarchical location views and topological views of the network configuration. Network devices are represented on the displays by multifunction icons which permit the user to select additional displays showing detailed information regarding different aspects of the corresponding network device.

Abstract: A deck plank (1) of the present invention comprises a plank member (5) adapted to be secured directly to and to span between two or more support members (3), such as the joists of a dock structure or of a residential deck. The plank member is an elongate member having a bottom adapted to bear directly on the support members. The plank member is provided with at least one stiffening member (15). A cover (7) is removably secured to plank member so as to be supported at least in part by the stiffening members and so as to constitute an upper surface of the deck plank upon which a person may walk.

Abstract: A method for building lapstrake boats without use of a strongback and molds, and without the need to cut bevels on the strakes. The two-dimensional shape of each strake is determined and the strakes are cut to these shapes. A groove, or rabbet, is cut in the bottom inside edge of each, but the bottom, strake. The strakes are fastened or clamped so the top edge of each plank fits into the rabbet in the bottom of the adjacent strake. This has the effect of holding the strakes in alignment. The joints are filled with epoxy or other cementitious material making a strong stiff bond. One or more frames, bulkheads, or other interior components may be inserted as needed to maintain the strakes in the desired shape.

Abstract: An elongated flooring member includes an array of pyramid-shaped tread members to form an anti-skid tread surface. Longitudinally extending features of the flooring member are formed by an extrusion process which is followed by an embossing process to cut extruded flutes into the pyramid-shaped tread members. A first version of the flooring member includes a pair of channels extending downward from an upper web on which the tread is formed, for attachment to a substrate. A second version of the flooring member has an adhesive layer fastened under the upper web for attachment to a single plank.
