摘要： A method and machine for fitting a sleeve seal of a collapsed form over a container, wherein the sleeve seal supplied is opened halfway by suction cups disposed to a base plate, and then are opened fully by separating the distance between opening members inserted therein, which are mounted movably up and down to the base plate, until the sleeve seal is somewhat tensioned, wherein the sleeve seal is formed in the cylindrical form just above a container to be fitted by closing the distance between the opening members while the sleeve seal is held by the suction cups, wherein the container is inserted into the sleeve seal opened by a lift supporting the container, wherein the opening members are pulled out of the sleeve seal, and wherein the container fitted in the sleeve seal is transferred to a next step.

摘要： An infeed conveyor advances side-by-side lines of rectangular cartons, such as six pack cartons, into a grid structure from which the cartons are to be dropped, in two groups of four cartons each, into two upwardly open packing cases. The grid structure includes means for detecting the presence of eight cartons therein, and a line brake is set in response to the detecting means to hold back cartons on the infeed conveyor. The grid structure includes a fixed frame in which two shifting carriage portions are slidably mounted for movement through different displacements in the downstream direction, and each carriage portion carries one of said carton groups. After being so shifted the two carton groups are dropped downwardly through doors in these carriage portions and into the upwardly open packing cases.

摘要： A device for grouping articles to be loaded into a carton and delivered to the device from an infeed stream at an infeed end of a packaging machine. The device comprises a leading and trailing spacer elements arranged to move along a first path, each spacer element being adapted to engage at least one article from the infeed stream and to convey the articles through a working reach of the device. The device further comprises adjustment means to adjust the device between a first mode in which each spacer element follows the first path to successively engage an article group; and a second mode in which the trailing spacer element follows the first path and the leading spacer element becomes transferred from the first path to follow a second path connected to the first path before rejoining the first path, whereby the leading and trailing spacer elements engage an article group simultaneously.
