    摘要: In a closure assembly the cap is a quarter-turn cap and the bottom end of the skirt has a pair of diametrically opposed static cover portions separated from one another by a pair of diametrically opposed and open bottomed notches in the skirt. In each notch an indicator segment of the tamper-evident structure is located that is integrally molded to an upper notch rim by a non-frangible hinge, preferably a film hinge, and to each of the leading rim and the trailing rim via at least one respective frangible bridge. The neck has for each indicator segment an integrally molded boss adapted to engage on a respective indicator segment such that, upon first time opening of the cap by quarter turn rotation in opening direction, the indicator segments are each forced outwardly by the respective boss such that each of the indicator segments pivots about the non-frangible hinge and the frangible bridges break, thereby the outwardly pivoted indicator segments and the broken frangible bridges evidencing the first time opening of the cap.

    摘要: A container closure system comprising a threaded cap and a threaded neck wherein the cap is affixed to the neck by direct axial application so that the mating threads slip past one another and into engagement. The cap further includes sealing means to capture and constrict the outer diameter of the neck, and valve means to plug the container opening in the neck and expand the outer diameter of the neck, so that the sealing means and valve means cooperate to improve sealing of the cap and neck. The cap and neck further include tamper-indication means to prevent removal of the cap without activation thereof. The tamper-indication means includes a novel skirt, pull tab and membrane configuration. The container neck may include interrupted threads which do not traverse the parting line and an additional annular seal below the threads on the container neck.

    摘要: A closure fitting is provided for a container which itself has no threads or other closure securing means formed on it. The fitting, which can be pressed down over the mouth of a container, provides its own securing means by which an outer, closure portion of the fitting can be removed from and resecured to an inner attachment portion which remains on the container after opening. The closure fitting may have a stretchable or distendable conical hoop molded inside a surrounding skirt. Cooperating sets of threads, lugs, or the like are formed on the outer face of the conical hoop and on the inner face of the skirt. In the closure as formed, the closure securing means of the hoop do not operably engage those of the skirt. They are progressively brought into cooperating engagement by stretching and enlarging the hoop outwardly as the closure fitting is press-fitted onto a container. The hoop is severably joined to the skirt; twisting or otherwise removing the skirt from the hoop in the first opening breaks the connections of the hoop to the skirt, so that the closure can be removed from the hoop. The closure can thereafter be used in the same manner as a conventional closure.

    摘要: A cap composed of a snap-on, tamper-evident closure differing from others of this general type is formed with a central sleeve. The bottom of the sleeve is closed off by a removable plug. The exterior of the closure is formed with a bead. The water dispenser is provided with an adapter consisting of an open-bottom outer sleeve into which the neck of the container with the closure in place thereon fits. Centrally disposed in the outer sleeve is a dispenser tube. When the container is inverted its neck is inserted in the outer tube. As the neck and cap are lowered, the dispenser tube enters the cap sleeve and attaches to the plug. Continued lowering of the container causes the plug to slide out of the tube so that liquid in the container flows out through the dispenser tube into the dispenser. When the container is lifted, the plug (which has been attached to the dispenser tube) is pulled back into its original sealed position. The plug and cup are at all times discrete. At least portions of the exterior of the skirt of the plug and a bead on the inside of the well near its bottom edge are also seamless. The portions are seamless in the sense of absence of vertical mold parting flash and thereby seal effectively. The exterior skirt of the plug and the interior wall of the well sleeve are seamless.

    摘要: A simple structure for a container closure system that allows for ease in closure and removal of a cap from the container is disclosed. The container closure comprises a cap having a skirt of substantially rectangular cross-section. Disposed in a central location on each of the internal surfaces of the skirt are rim-engaging members that are substantially coplanar. The container has a neck portion terminating in an outer peripheral rim surrounding an oval-shaped opening in one end of the container through which the container contents may be dispensed. Cap-engaging portions on the outer portion of the peripheral rim engage with the rim-engaging members disposed on the skirt internal surface when the cap is in a closed position over the container opening. The rim-engaging members of the present invention can be in the form of small ridges or grooves and can engage with cap-engaging portions formed by small ribs. Alternatively, when in the form of small ridges, rim-engaging members can engage with cap-engaging portions in the form of a small edge extending around the outer portion of the peripheral rim. The cap may be placed into a closed position on the container by aligning the edge of the skirt with a similarly configured edge of the container body and “snapping” the rim-engaging members on the skirt into an engaged relationship with the cap-engaging portions on the peripheral rim. When the cap is in a closed position, the container, its contents, and the cap can be lifted solely by gripping the cap. By twisting the cap slightly with respect to a vertical axis of the container, the rim-engaging members and the cap-engaging portions are disengaged, thereby releasing the cap to an open position so that it may be removed from the container.
