    摘要: A conveyor for pulverized material comprises in combination a conduit, a screw rotatably mounted within the conduit having a material inlet end and material discharge end, means for rotating the screw, means for supplying material to the screw at the material inlet end, whereby the material will be compacted as it is advanced by the screw to the material discharge end, and means for admitting a gas under pressure to the compacted material at the material discharge end to render it fluent. In a portion of the screw a material seal is formed by the compacted material being advanced by the screw, wherein there are material pockets formed between adjacent screw flights, wherein the pocket size volume is at its maximum nearest the material inlet end and at its minimum nearest the material outlet end, with at least twice as many pockets of minimum size as of maximum size.

    摘要: A method of conveying fuel, such as bulk material, into a gasification reactor that has a lateral infeed opening can be practiced with device for conveying fuels into a gasification reactor comprising a bulk material container, a conveying pipe, into which a discharge of the bulk material container opens and which can be connected to a lateral infeed opening of the gasification reactor, and a mechanical conveying apparatus disposed in the conveying pipe, the conveying apparatus is formed by a hydraulically drivable plunger, which is movably guided in a first, cylindrical section of the conveying pipe, and in that the conveying pipe has an internal cross-section which decreases continuously in the conveying direction of the fuel in order to form a compacting cone in a second axial section that is downstream of the first section, wherein the second section is configured as an exchangeable pipe portion with another exchangeable pipe portion.

    摘要: A feeder apparatus supplies a powder feedstock to a high or low pressure processing operation. The apparatus includes a metering plate defining an annular channel having a channel width. A measuring mechanism dispenses a measured volume of the feedstock into the annular channel. The measuring mechanism includes a pay-out device defining an outlet significantly smaller than the channel width. The measuring mechanism further includes a maximum fill level defining a maximum pressure head in the feedstock less than a retaining pressure defined by the internal friction of the feedstock. The restraining pressure prevents the feedstock from spreading outwardly in the annular channel and contacting sidewalls of the annular channel under the pressure head of the feedstock. The apparatus further includes a pick-up device for removing the feedstock from the annular channel. The pick-up device includes an inlet having a rectangular shape extending across the annular channel.
