    摘要： A sheet processing apparatus includes an intermediate tray on which a sheet is to be stacked, a stapler to execute stapling processing on the stacked sheet, a discharge tray on which the sheet subjected to the stapling processing by the stapler and discharged from the intermediate tray is to be stacked, a control unit, and a shift unit. The shift unit may shift the sheet to a position on the intermediate tray, wherein the position is outside of a range in which the stapling processing is to be executed. In a state where a first sheet and a second sheet are stacked on the intermediate tray and the second sheet is subject to the stapling processing, the control unit causes the shift unit to shift the first sheet on which the stapling processing is not executed, and causes the stapler to execute the stapling processing on the second sheet.

    摘要： An apparatus for forming an indicium in a stream of moving signatures, consisting of a signature displaced laterally from the stream and corresponding to a predetermined count of signatures, comprises an idler roller mechanism connected with a rotatable idler roller shaft and a series of vacuum heads located adjacent to and downstream of the idler roller mechanism. The vacuum heads are mounted to a vacuum head shaft laterally movable with respect to the signatures. A detector such as a laser detector coupled with a counter is used to actuate the system. When a predetermined count is reached as determined by the detector and counter, the idler roller shaft is caused to rotate to lower the idler roller and the signature corresponding to the count contacts the tops of each vacuum head. Simultaneously, a partial vacuum is formed in the recessed vacuum chamber of each head binding the targeted signature to the heads. The vacuum head shaft is then moved laterally to displace the held signature a short distance to form a tab.

    摘要： A counting and segregating mechanism for individual articles including disposable diapers and the like and characterized by simplicity of construction and operation and the ability to count and segregate a group of a predetermined number of such articles for packaging and the like including the following. An elongate, longitudinally extending compartmented device sequentially defines an area for receiving the articles to be counted, an area for receiving the articles from the receiving area and holding the articles as they are being counted, and an area for receiving a counted group of a predetermined number of the articles from the counting area for removal from the mechanism. A device is operatively connected with the compartmented device for moving the articles sequentially from the receiving area to the counting area. Control and actuating devices are connected with the moving devices for sequentially operating the article moving device a predetermined number of times and then operating the counted group moving device so that a predetermined number of individual articles will be counted and segregated into a group of such articles.
