    摘要: Agricultural soil is acidified by applying fertilizer, especially in the form of a clear solution, having an undesirably low pH value. The invention provides for applying a liquid neutralizing reagent in the vicinity of the fertilizer, and in the same operation as applying the fertilizer. A device for treating the soil has a liquid container, a conduit and dispensing means for applying the neutralizing agent. The device can form part of a cultivating implement having fertilizer applying means, e.g. a seed planter.

    摘要: In producing a mixed phosphatic fertilizer, humic acid is mixed with fused phosphate to cause the humic acid to react on alkaline ingredients of the fused phosphate for turning these alkaline ingredients into chelate compounds, so that water-soluble phosphoric acid contents of succeedingly added phosphatic fertilizers such as calcium superphosphate and calcium triple-superphosphate are not reduced or insolubilized by being reacted with such alkaline ingredients. Thus, unlike the prior art, a stabilized predetermined level of water-soluble phosphoric acid contents can be secured in the resultant mixed phosphatic fertilizer along with a predetermined level of citric acid-soluble phosphoric acid contents.

    摘要: The invention relates to a method of processing the waste sludge obtained in purification facilities for phosphoric acid produced by the wet process. The composition of this sludge is such that it cannot be utilized for any purpose in this state. It is known that sludge from wet phosphoric acid purification facilities contains different quantities of certain substances, the concentrations being such that these substances may not be allowed to mix with surface water or ground water under any circumstances, not even in the case of dumps. A typical composition of such waste sludge is as follows:______________________________________ Fe 9.0% by weight P.sub.2 O.sub.5 21.0% by weight CaO 6.2% by weight SiO.sub.2 12.5% by weight MgO 5.8% by weight Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 2.7% by weight Cr.sub.2 O.sub.3 0.7% by weight V.sub.2 O.sub.5 0.6% by weight Na.sub.2 O 18.0% by weight K.sub.2 O 0.3% by weight F 1.7% by weight C 2.5% by weight S 0.3% by weight Remainder* 18.7% by weight 100.0% by weight ______________________________________ *The remainder consists mainly of hydration water and carbonate that did not decompose at a temperature of 105.degree.     摘要: Plant growth stimulants containing compounds which increase intracellular carbon dioxide as the main active component and optionally supplemented with specific nutrients have been found to enhance productivity of plants. Exemplary compounds include lower alcohols, such as methanol, ethanol, propanol and butanol, and amino acids, such as glycine, glutamate, and aspartate. Such growth stimulation appears to result, in part, from inhibition of stress induced photorespiration according to a previously unrecognized photosynthetic pathway. Exposure of the plants to sunlight or other sufficient illumination following treatment with the compositions results in enhanced fixation of carbon dioxide and turgor. Stimulant compositions may comprise from 5% to 50% by volume aqueous solutions of methanol or 0.1% to 10% by weight amino acids and are preferably applied by foliar spraying of plants and plant shoots.

    摘要: A new slow releasing particulate iron humate agricultural nutrient composition exhibiting substantially complete solubility of its iron content in soil solutions as indicated by neutral citrate solubilities, and almost no solubility in water, and a new method for preparing the composition. The method comprises admixing and coreacting iron humate with about equimolar amounts of a divalent metal oxide, an aqueous hydroxide of a monovalent Lewis acid, and a water soluble inorganic phosphate. The iron humate amounts to between 20 and 70 percent of the nutrient particles, and the reaction is carried out at temperatures between 60.degree. and 150.degree. C. for between 4 and 25 minutes.

A water soluble magnesium compound may be added to the phosphoric acid, thereby providing magnesium ammonium phosphate in the product.
