Abstract: A method for production of an ingot of a bulk glass-forming alloy, comprising the steps of: Providing a homogeneous melt of a bulk glass-forming alloy; casting the homogeneous melt into a casting mould, whereby the casting mould does not cool down below the glass-transition temperature of the alloy at the contact surface to the melt for at least 5 seconds; and cooling down the melt below the glass transition temperature of the bulk glass-forming alloy while obtaining the ingot.

The resettable metallic glass may include: (1) an element group TM consisting of group IV transition elements; (2) an element group E having a negative (−) enthalpy of mixing with group IV transition elements and including a eutectic reaction of a large temperature difference; (3) an element group PN having a positive (+) enthalpy of mixing with the element group TM and a negative (−) enthalpy of mixing with the element group E to form both a TM-E cluster resetting core and an E-PN cluster resetting core or, on the contrary, an element group NP having a negative (−) enthalpy of mixing with the element group TM and a positive (+) enthalpy of mixing with the element group E to form both a TM-E cluster resetting core and a TM-NP cluster resetting core.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein relate to the production of a housing enclosure designed for sensors or RFIDS to be attached to thin-walled components in the oil and gas industries being sent downhole during drilling and extraction. A metal-based coating, which may be crystalline, amorphous, or partially amorphous in structure, is deposited onto a substrate in layers via thermal spraying. The coating may then be machined so that an opening is created to receive the sensor or RFID. The coating may also provide other functions such as wear, corrosion or erosion protection to the thin-walled components applied.
