摘要: A composite twist yarn is produced by twisting a spun yarn and at least one filament together. The composite twist yarn has features that the twisted direction of the composite twist yarn is substantially identical to the twisted direction of the spun yarn entwined in the composite twist yarn, and that the number of twists of the composite twist yarn is larger than that of the spun yarn entwined in the composite twist yarn. The composite twist yarn is produced by making a twisted spun yarn and at least one filament parallel to each other to a paralleled yarn, twisting the paralleled yarn in a direction reverse to the twisted direction of the spun yarn, and continuing the twisting over an untwisted point of the spun yarn.

摘要: A method for producing a spliced yarn comprising alternating predetermined lengths of a first and a second yarn and to the yarn are disclosed. A predetermined length of a first yarn is drawn through an intermingling jet. A leading portion of a second yarn is forwarding into the intermingling jet and into overlapping relationship with a trailing portion of the first yarn. Using a pressurized fluid the overlapped portions of the first and second yarns are intermingled, thereby to splice the leading portion of second yarn to the trailing portion of the first yarn. The first yarn is then severed, and the spliced portion and a predetermined length of the second yarn are drawn through the intermingling jet. The cycle is repeated with the second yarn being the currently drawn yarn and the first yarn being forwarded into overlapping relationship therewith. Preferably the yarns are held in the intermingling jet, as by a clamp disposed forwardly of the jet, while the intermingled splice is formed. The pressurized fluid forming the intermingled splice has a pressure in the range from sixty (60) to one hundred (100) pounds per square inch (413.4 to 689.4 Kilopascals), and more preferably, a pressure in the range from sixty (60) to eighty (80) pounds per square inch (413.4 to 551.2 Kilopascals). Each splice so formed must be able to withstand a tension force of at least 6.8 pounds (3.1 kilograms). The predetermined lengths of the first and second yarn may be equal or different. Preferably the first and second yarns are solution dyed to be differently colored.

摘要: Improvements in creating resilient high denier polypropylene yarns are provided. Generally, high denier polypropylene yarns exhibit poor resiliency (such as crush resistance, for example, when utilized as carpet face yarns) that effectively prevents widespread use in articles that require high degrees of resiliency. As a result, higher cost, but more resilient, yarns, such as polyesters or polyamides, have found greater acceptance in such end-use articles. Furthermore, previous attempts at texturing high denier polypropylene fibers have failed to attain suitable resilience levels therein is insufficient to permit proper return to initial shape and/or length after impact. It has now surprisingly been determined that such high denier polypropylene yarns can be produced with certain nucleating additives that permit requisite degrees of shape and length retention, and thus acceptable resilience levels to permit cost-effective replacement of more expensive polyester or polyamide yarns in certain end-use applications.

摘要: Provide a manufacturing method for polyester yarn excellent in yarn transferring, packaging and loosing with no white powder occurred when weaving, which is heating polyester polymer of inherent viscosity (IV) 0.5null0.7 and melting point of 245null265null C. to melt, filter and extruding in constant amount by direct spin drawing of monofilament yarn or combining multi-tow of filaments, then splitting to obtain polyester yarn having high denier in monofilament, characterized in comprising the following steps: a. uniformly spinning said constant amount extruded polyester melt through spinneret orifices to obtain the filament tows, passing said spun filament tows under spinneret to uniformly cooled to solidify in the quenching air tube, wherein said quenching air tube is equipped with chilling water tubular coil to keep the temperature of quenching air at 10null15null C.; b. oiling said cooled filament tows, then texturing by the godet roller of direct spin drawing machine, wherein the surface of said godet roller are treated by chrome plating to make the surface roughness of first heating roller in Ra0.025 to 0.1 nullm and the surface roughness of second heating roller in Ra0.1 to 0.5 nullm; c. drawing said filament tows between said first heating roller and second heating roller with drawing ratio of 3.5null5 times on the basis of the initial length of said filament tows, the temperature of said first heating roller was set at 85null105null C., while the temperature of said second heating roller was set at 130null160null C.; d. obtaining spin drawing yarn (SDY) of d.p.f. 5 dnull55 d by using said conditions, EO/PO (ethylene oxide/propylene oxide) content of spinning finish in oiling is set at 50%-90%. Polyester yarn of d.p.f. 5 dnull55 d excellent in yarn transferring, packaging and loosing with no white powder occurred when weaving manufactured by this invention has higher modulus itself, can avoid streak and speckle in weaving, which is suitable in elastic supporter of shoe material, printing mesh, bridal dress etc.

摘要: Provided is a fire resistant corespun yarn. The yarn includes a core of a high temperature resistant continuous filament comprising fiberglass and a low temperature synthetic continuous filament selected from nylon, polyester, polyethylene and polyolefin, the core being two-plied. A first sheath of blended staple fibers surrounds the core. The fibers include modacrylic fibers and melamine fibers. A second sheath of staple fibers surrounds the first corespun yarn. This double corespun yarn may be woven and knit in fine, non-plied or plied form and extends the range of fineness of fabrics below heretofore achievable limits. Also provided is a fire resistant fabric which includes a fire resistant fabric substrate formed from the fire resistant corespun yarn, as well as a product upholstered with the fire resistant fabric.

摘要: A texturing machine for crimping an advancing yarn and which includes a plurality of processing units and a plurality of feed systems. At least one of the feed systems is formed by a driven feed roll and a rotatable guide roll mounted in cantilever fashion on a machine frame, and about which the yarn is looped. A threading device is associated with the rolls for an initial threadup of the yarn before the start of the process, and by which it is possible to lay the advancing yarn against the circumference of the rolls with a total looping greater than 360null.
