摘要:
Implementations herein describe an artificial turf having a backing layer and a plurality of rows of individual tufts tufted into the backing layer. Each tuft comprises at least three yarns per tuft and each one of the at least three yarns varies in at least one of material, color, texture, denier and cross-section. Each row of individual tufts is substantially similar to each adjacent tufted row and adjacent tufts on a given row are spaced apart at a predetermined gauge.

An artificial turf filament has a cross-section that includes a body having a center juncture having a first width and a first and second wing member arranged in diverging orientation from the center juncture. Each wing member having a plurality of legs and a plurality of leg junctures positioned between respective legs of the plurality of legs. Moving from the center juncture to a distal end of each wing member, the minimal cross-sectional widths of the respective legs of the plurality of legs decrease and the maximal cross-sectional widths of the respective leg junctures of the plurality of leg junctures decrease.

Curled decorative grass having a variety of configurations and methods for making such decorative grass is provided which, because of its increased bulk, can also be used as a packing material, animal bedding, cat litter, mulch for soil, and a media for plants. The curled decorative grass is produced by curling a substantially flat sheet of material and thereafter cutting the resulting curled sheet of material, or by cutting a pre-curled material.

The present invention teaches a vehicular upholstery PPT-fiber fabric that is formed from a double woven fabric in which a face weaving textile design has a number of intersections, called warp up intersections where a warp yarn passes over a weft yarn, and these are more than the number of intersections, called weft up intersection, where a weft yarn passes over a warp yarn. The warp yarn is formed by twisting an intermingled yarn composed of a PPT-multi-filament yarn and a high heat shrinkable PET-multifilament yarn whose shrinkage percentage in boiling water is more than 15%. An intermingle ratio of the PPT-multifilament yarn of the warp yarn is more than the intermingle ratio of the PET-multifilament yarn of the warp yarn. In the warp yarn, the PET-multifilament yarn is shrunk by heating, so that the substantial length of the PET-multifilament yarn becomes shorter than the substantial length of the PPT-multifilament yarn. The weft yarn is composed of PPT-multifilament yarn.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing a turf yam for artificial turf. According to the invention, several monofilaments or ribbons are produced from one respective polymer material in two parallel extrusion processes, the turf yarn being formed by combining several monofilaments or ribbons obtained in the first extrusion process with several monofilaments or ribbons obtained in the second extrusion process. In order to improve especially the elasticity of an artificial turf carpet made from said turf yarn, the monofilaments or ribbons obtained in one of the extrusion processes are crimped before being combined, the crimped monofilaments or ribbons and the flat monofilaments or ribbons being produced in parallel next to each other and being joined in a winding station by means of a tie thread.

Vehicular upholstery fabric is woven by using chenille yarn and multi-fiber yarn for weft yarns. The weaving interval between chenille yarns is set up less than the apparent thickness of the chenille yarn, which is specified as an observed value of the thickness. The apparent thickness of the multi-fiber yarn is less than one-fifth of the apparent thickness of the chenille yarn. There are tight portions where a great number of warp yarns passes over the chenille yarn, and rough portions, where a small number of warp yarns passes over the chenille yarn that is formed on the surface of fabric. PPT-fibers are used for the pile of the chenille yarn and the warp yarn.

The present invention relates to multifilament crimped yarn comprising an aliphatic polyester and methods for producing thereof, and to carpets that are manufactured by using the crimped yarn. The present invention provides an aliphatic polyester multifilament crimped yarn for the carpets comprising an aliphatic polyester having a melting point of equal to or higher than 130° C., said multifilament crimped yarn having crimp elongation rate of the multifilament crimped yarn after being processed with boiling water of 3-35% and breaking strength of 1-5 cN/decitex.

A hybrid of vinyl flooring and soft cushioned carpet is provided. The hybrid flooring, which is suitable for production into tiles, utilizes woven PVC fabric that is bonded to a flexible backing. The fabric comprises woven solid color and/or multi-color yarns in order to produce different visual styles. These yarns comprise a ceramic fiber core, preferably fiberglass, onto which PVC is extruded in order to form a PVC jacket. The core provides the yarn with sufficient tensile strength so it can be woven while the PVC provides durability, resistance to wear and color. After the fabric is woven, it is sent through a tentering or curing oven which fuses the warp and fill yarns of the fabric, thereby stabilizing the fabric, preserving its integrity and preventing it from unraveling.

The present invention is an apparatus and method of making yarn for carpet that exhibits a high degree of color pop. More specifically, in one aspect, the present invention comprises an apparatus and method that comprises supplying a plurality of yarns, false-twist the plurality of yarns, and passing the consolidated yarn through a downstream entangling assembly to tack at least a portion of the consolidated yarn. Another aspect of the present invention passes at least one of the plurality of yarns through one of a plurality of second entangling assemblies positioned upstream of the false-twist apparatus.
