摘要： A yarn having good entanglement and good quality, preferably a multifilament polyamide yarn, a method for making the yarn, and a woven fabric made from the yarn wherein the yarn comprises the following properties: the yarn length per defect is greater than or equal to about 3000 meters per defect; the maximum skip length is less than or equal to about 120 millimeters; the ratio between yarn length per defect to maximum skip length is greater than or equal to about 50; the entanglements per meter times the average entanglement strength is greater than or equal to about 120; and the yarn can be woven sizeless. The yarn of the invention is useful in the sizeless weaving of fabric used in air bags.

摘要： An improved thermally stable, storage stable gas generating composition characterized by both an increased burning rate and a decreased pressure exponent for producing a clean, nontoxic, substantially ash- and solids-free gas for inflating inflatable structures such as vehicle airbags is provided. Optimum combustion efficiencies and operating pressures are achieved in the improved gas generating composition by adding an effective amount of a copper or copper compound catalyst to a gas generating composition that is preferably a eutectic mixture or solid solution of ammonium nitrate, at least one highly oxygenated fuel, potassium or cesium perchlorate or nitrate and an optional binder.

The improved universal compression characteristics, breathability and thermoregulation provide enhanced ability to promote healing and protect the wound site.

摘要： Preferred gas generant compositions incorporate a combination of 5-aminotetrazole nitrate and an oxidizer. The oxidizer may be selected from a group including nonmetal and metal nitrates, nitrites, chlorates, chlorites, perchlorates, and oxides. 5-aminotetrazole nitrate is characterized as an oxygen-rich fuel and is therefore considered to be a self-deflagrating fuel. To tailor the oxygen balance in certain applications, however, the use of an oxidizer is preferred. Methods of formulating the compositions are also described. These compositions are especially suitable for inflating air bags and actuating seatbelt pretensioners in passenger-restraint devices.

摘要： A woven carpet backing may include monofilament warp yarns and alternating monofilament and multifilament fill yarns. The yarns may be woven using a weave, such as a non-traditional weave, that places all of the multifilament fill yarns on the face of the fabric and all of the monofilament fill yarns on the back of the fabric. Monofilament fill yarns and multifilament fill yarns are overstuffed, thereby creating a coverage factor greater than one hundred percent. The invention results in a carpet backing with the appearance of a primary carpet backing on one side of the fabric and the appearance of a secondary carpet backing on the opposite side of the fabric. The need for a secondary carpet backing is eliminated by the woven carpet backing.

摘要： A woven preform for a ceramic composite has a plurality of layers and structural members. The plurality of layer are of woven yarns of fibrous material. The structural members extend between the layers. The layers and members define interlayer spaces. One or more of the layers may have a plurality of openings extending therethrough. Low density ceramic insulation made be deposited in the interlayer spaces via a slurry that enters the preform, or the preform after it has been made a part of a composite, through the openings. The carrier of the slurry exits the preform, leaving the randomly packed fibers in the interlayer spaces. The structural members may be walls that, along with the layers, define channels. The channels may be used to direct fluid through so as the composite functions as an insulator. The channels may be directed in the warp direction for achieving increased benefits.

摘要： An on-machine-seamable papermaker's fabric, which may be produced by modified endless weaving, includes machine-direction (MD) and cross-machine-direction (CD) yarns. When so produced, the MD yarns weave continuously back and forth between the two widthwise edges of the fabric, each time forming a seaming loop at one of the two widthwise edges. Interwoven with at least one of the two sides, top and bottom, of the seaming loops at one or both widthwise edges are at least two additional CD yarns. The additional CD yarns interweave with the top and/or bottom of the seaming loops in a leno weave, which keeps the seaming loops in a common position vertically relative to the plane of the papermakers fabric, locks the seaming loops into a desired position and orientation with their planes perpendicular to that of the papermaker's fabric.
