摘要: Cold-in-place asphalt recycling is disclosed. A foamed asphalt may be produced by injecting water and optionally compressed air into a hot asphalt stream. A lubricating surfactant may be added to the hot asphalt stream to improve performance. The foamed asphalt may be mixed with reclaimed material to provide a uniformly coated paving material that can compacted to a desired density.

摘要: In some embodiments, asphalt shingle waste (ASW) is obtained. In some embodiments, sufficient grinding steps and screening steps can be performed on the ASW to result in ASW powder. In some embodiments, the grinding steps and screening steps can exclude wet extraction steps. In some embodiments, ASW powder and an asphalt coating can be fed into at least one first mixer to form a mixture of the ASW powder and the asphalt coating. In some embodiments, the mixture of the ASW powder and the asphalt coating can be heated to form a heated mixture. In some embodiments, the heated mixture of the ASW powder and the asphalt coating can be conveyed to at least one second mixer. In some embodiments, at least one filler material can be combined with the heated mixture in the second mixer to obtain an ASW powder filled coating.

摘要: Method and apparatus to facilitate recycling of at least one fraction of bitumen-containing materials. This can be accomplished by dissolving the at least one fraction, for example, maltenes or asphaltenes in roofing shingles, into at least one solvent. In one aspect, the apparatus comprises a dissolution vessel, a tumbler positioned therein, and at least one solvent distributor. The tumbler is configured to facilitate wetting the bitumen-containing materials with solvent. In a second aspect, a system comprises the apparatus, a solid-liquid separator, for example, a vibratory screen, and at least one solvent-fraction separator, for example, a flash drum. The at least one solvent can comprise one or more solvents useful to extract the at least one fraction. In a third aspect, a first fraction is extracted from the bitumen-containing materials with a first solvent composition, then a second fraction is extracted from the remaining bitumen-containing materials with a second solvent composition.

摘要: A CIR train that is adapted to traverse a roadway of asphalt pavement in order to recycle and repair the asphalt pavement includes a milling machine for removing asphalt paving material from the roadway. The CIR train also includes an asphalt cement supply tank and a mechanism for dispensing asphalt cement onto asphalt paving material that has been removed from the roadway. A heater is in fluid communication with the asphalt cement supply tank and the mechanism for dispensing asphalt cement on the asphalt paving material that has been removed from the roadway. The heater is adapted to heat the asphalt cement from the asphalt cement supply tank prior to said asphalt cement being dispensed on the asphalt paving material that has been removed from the roadway.
