    摘要: A closure element for a fluid end assembly that has two or more recessed grooves formed in its outer surface. The grooves are axially offset. A seal is placed in one and only one of the grooves. As wear occurs, the seal is relocated to one of the other grooves. Instead of a series of axially offset grooves in a single closure element, a kit may be formed from two or more otherwise identical closure elements, each with a single recessed groove at a different axial position. Another closure element has a series of ledge-like surfaces defining spaces within which a seal may be received. One outer surface surrounds one or more of the other surfaces. A seal is placed in one and only one of the spaces. As wear occurs, the seal is relocated to one of the other spaces.

    摘要: A method of pressurizing a closed-cycle engine includes performing a non-steady state operation in which a working fluid flows to or from a pressurized tank: i) to or from a plurality of sumps defined by respective ones of a plurality of cylinder-piston assemblies of the closed-cycle engine; or ii) to or from one or more air bearings associated with each one of the plurality of the cylinder-piston assemblies; or iii) both and performing, before and/or after performing the non-steady state operation, a steady-state operation in which the working fluid flows through the plurality of sumps and the one or more air bearings along a steady-state loop that is fluidly decoupled from the pressurized tank.

    摘要: A valve for controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid to a hydraulic motor. The valve includes a sleeve and a spool. The sleeve includes a first fluid flow port for receiving hydraulic fluid from the supply line; a second fluid flow port for supplying hydraulic fluid to a second valve; a third fluid flow port for receiving hydraulic fluid from a first control line; a fourth fluid flow port for receiving hydraulic fluid from a second control line; and a fifth fluid flow port in fluid communication with the return line. The valve is arranged to be actuated to move the spool between a first position and a second position. When the spool is in the second position, the fifth fluid flow port is in fluid communication with the second, third and fourth fluid flow ports and the first fluid flow port is closed by the spool.

    摘要: A hydraulic control circuit for a hydraulic motor operable at least at two displacements, having a proportional speed control valve with a control valve spool continuously moveable by means of a force generated by a pilot pressure being controlled by a continuously, electrically adjustable pilot valve having an electrical actuator, wherein the control valve spool is moveable between a full-torque end position, a reduced-torque end position, and at least one intermediate position. A time related control current function is provided for controlling the current applied to the electrical actuator for controlling the pilot pressure including a pre-current portion with a constant non-zero current and a current ramp portion during which the current is raised or lowered continuously from a ramp starting current level to an intermediate current level. The current is changed abruptly to a switching current level at the end of the current ramp portion for allowing the movement of the speed control valve spool from one of the two end positions via the at least one intermediate switching position into the other end position.

    摘要: A vapor powered electro-mechanical generator comprises a cylinder, which is sealed at both ends in which two pistons slidingly move in opposite directions simultaneously. A tube on which the pistons also slide lies at the center of the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. The tube transfers vapor from the inlet to the pressurized side of the pistons to actuate pistons, while one or more exhaust valves are simultaneously opened on the opposite end of the piston stroke allowing the expanded vapor to flow to a condensing system. The pistons consist of magnets at their peripheral circumference. As the vapor expands, the pistons magnets move through coils of conductive wire producing electric current. Further, repulsion magnets repel corresponding piston magnets to provide a cushioned rebound effect while conserving momentum of the generator.
