    摘要: A fuel discharge nozzle for discharging fuel into an airflow passageway of a barrel of a carburetor includes a nozzle body that is attached to the carburetor and has proximal and distal ends. The nozzle body defines a fuel inlet that receives fuel, a fuel outlet that permits the fuel to flow out of the nozzle body, and a fuel passage fluidly connecting the fuel inlet and the fuel outlet so that the fuel can flow from the fuel inlet to the fuel outlet. The nozzle body is sized and shaped to position the fuel outlet in the airflow passageway of the barrel of the carburetor when the nozzle body is attached to the carburetor so that the fuel flows into the airflow passageway of the carburetor and mixes with air after the fuel flows out of the fuel outlet.

    摘要: A carburetor assembly includes a base plate (12) having an air bypass passage (30) extending there through, with air channels (71-74) formed in the surface of the base plate intersecting the air bypass passage and each of the butterfly bores (25-28) of the base plate. An adjustable air bypass valve (31) is mounted on the base plate and controls the movement of air through the bypass passage. A valve needle (50) is adjustably mounted to the valve body (48) for adjustably constricting the flow of fluid through the radially extending air inlet ports (60) and through the base plate air bypass passage, to allow for the adjustment of the volume of the air delivered to the engine at idle speed, independently of the movements of the butterfly valves.

    摘要: A carburetor for an internal combustion engine includes idle passages (22A and 22B) extending through the carburetor body adjacent each cylinder bore (18A–18-D) of the carburetor, such that the idle passages bypass the cylinder bores. A common fuel flow metering circuit (30) is in fluid communication with at least two of the idle passages for joining the fuel flowing from the idle passages and redistributing the fuel back to the idle passages. A metering valve (40) is positioned in the common fuel flow circuit for metering the flow of fuel through the common fuel flow metering circuit, so that equal distribution of the fuel is delivered to the cylinders of the engine in spite of possible unequal flow of fuel being received through the idle passages.

    摘要: A carburetor (1) having an existing venturi upstream of a throttle plate (7) and a bore (17) downstream of a throttle plate (7) is provided with a second venturi (14) which increases airflow velocity and promotes fuel atomization. An aerodynamic piece or wing (15) is mounted to the top of the venturi to further define the airflow path and to prevent the downstream fuel/air mixture (10) from losing velocity after passing the throttle plate. The wing (15) includes a first set of tabs (41, 42) to secure the wing to the engine intake manifold and as second set of tabs (43, 44) to secure the combined wing (15) and venturi to an oversized carburetor bore. A cutout (21) in the venturi (14) prevents interference with the carburetor fuel jet (5). The wing (15) may be formed with a specially shaped trailing edge (51) in order to accommodate the contours of the throttle plate.

    摘要: An apparatus for controlling the flow of air in a conventional venturi-type carburetor. A small tube and a large tube connected by a tapered transition tube is placed inside and concentric to the venturi of a carburetor with the large tube being closer to the throttle valve of the carburetor. The cross-sectional area of the large tube should be in the range of two to three times that of the small tube. A collar or draw plate is mounted around the small tube to control the air flow in the passageway formed by the outside of the wall of the small tube and the interior of the venturi. An aperture is provided in the peripheral surface of the small tube to permit the main fuel-metering nozzle of the carburetor to extend into the interior of the small tube. Small air bleed holes may be provided in the peripheral surface of the apparatus to permit the travel of gaseous materials between the exterior and the interior of the apparatus. The apparatus may be constructed in a single piece for original equipment applications or may be constructed in several pieces to permit ease of installation for add-on applications.
