摘要: A drive power transmission device is disclosed having a drive mechanism for transmitting a drive power between first and second rotary members rotatable relatlve to each other, by the operation of an electromagnetic type dutch mechanism which brings a friction clutch into connection. A magnetic path generated around an electromagnet of the electromagnetic type clutch mechanism includes a clutch magnetic path in which a magnetic flux passes to reciprocate plural times across th friction clutch, and diamond-like carbon surface treatment is given on a part or all of the friction contact surfaces of the friction clutch to form a hard amorphous carbon film thereon. Thus, the transmission device can be constructed using a smaller number of the outer and inner plates for the electromagnetic type clutch mechanism, so that it can take a small construction with a longer durability life.

摘要: A mixture of carbon-containing fibers, such as mesophase or isotropic pitch fibers, a suitable matrix material, such as a milled pitch is compressed while resistively heating the mixture to form a carbonized composite material. Preferably, the carbonized material has a density of at least about 1.30 g/cm3. Preferably, the composite material is formed in less than ten minutes. This is a significantly shorter time than for conventional processes, which typically take several days and achieve a lower density material. A treating component may be impregnated into the composite. Consequently, carbon composite materials having final densities of about 1.6-1.8 g/cm3 or higher are readily achieved with one or two infiltration cycles using a pitch or other carbonaceous material to fill voids in the composite and rebaking.

摘要: A parking brake especially for an automotive automatic gearbox or an automotive automated manual gearbox. The parking brake comprises a blocking device that blocks or unblocks the gearbox in response to an actuation signal triggered by an actuation device. The blocking device is brought into the blocking position by actuating a spring accumulator (10) and the blocking device is released from the blocking position by either hydraulic or pneumatic pressure while simultaneously pretensioning the spring accumulator (10). The parking brake is further provided with a mechanically actuating locking device (40) for maintaining the blocking device in the non-blocking condition, and with an electromagnet (40) that can be supplied with current and that maintains the locking device (40) in the locking position. The parking brake is further characterized in that the locking device (40) is mechanically actuated by the blocking device when the blocking position is released and is maintained in the locking position by the electromagnet (30) that is supplied with current.

摘要: A wet-type friction clutch plate surely keeps lubricant on a frictional slide face, stabilizes frictional torque transmission, and suppresses shuddering noise. The wet-type friction clutch plate (1) has the frictional slide face (9) on which a grid of grooves (11) is formed. The frictional slide face frictionally engages with an opposite clutch plate. At least one of the sectional shape and plan shape of each of the grooves is configured to provide the frictional slide face with a null-v characteristic that null increases with an increase in v to prevent self-excited vibration during frictional engagement of the wet-type friction clutch plate with the opposite clutch plate, where null is a coefficient of friction on the frictional slide face and v is a relative rotational speed of the wet-type friction clutch plate relative to the opposite clutch plate.

摘要: The present invention provides a brake shoe formed of sheet metal and allowing a brake lining to be firmly bonded, and a method of simply and inexpensively producing the brake shoe. The brake shoe is comprised of a shoe rim 11 formed in a cylinder having a circumference partially notched and an outer surface with a brake lining 10 bonded thereto, a pair of shoe ribs 12 extending from a vicinity of an inner, axially center circumference of shoe rim 11 radially inward toward each other, and an attachment plate 13 extending between paired ribs 12 radially inward, wherein shoe rim 11 has an outer surface knurled 14. The brake shoe is produced by: cleaving and spreading an outer peripheral portion of a metallic, disk-shaped blank 20 in a direction of a thickness of the sheet metal to form an intermediate, rolled product having a short cylindrical portion 33 and a web 34 extending radially inward from a vicinity of an inner, axially center circumference of cylindrical portion 33; subsequently pressing a knurling barrel 39 against an outer circumferential surface of cylindrical portion 33 to knurl 14 the outer circumferential surface of cylindrical portion 33; and punching the intermediate, rolled product to obtain brake shoe 1, shaped as described above.

摘要: Carbon fiber brake preforms (20), specifically, annular discs built up of fabric arc segments (21) composed of continuous fibers (25) and staple fibers (26). Most of the continuous fibers (25) in the fabric segments (21) are arranged to be located within 60null of radially from the inner diameter to the outer diameter of the annular disc (20). The fabric arc segments have substantially all of their continuous fibers oriented in the radial direction and parallel to the segment arc bisector, or the segments are arranged in alternating layers in which, respectively, half the continuous fibers are oriented at a null45 degree angle with respect to the segment arc bisector and half the continuous fibers are oriented at a null45 degree angle with respect thereto. Methods for making preform composites comprise providing needle-punched nonwoven fabric of unidirectional continuous fibers and staple fibers, making a plurality of fabric segments, arranging the segments in a multilayered intermediate, heating the multilayered intermediate to convert the fibers to carbon, and densifying the carbonized product. In brake discs made as described, fiber pull-out is minimized, reducing mechanical wear. The disclosed preform fiber architecture reduces wear rates while maintaining brake disc strength.

摘要: A friction disc, in particular a brake or clutch disc, includes carbon fiber-reinforced ceramic composite material with at least one top surface formed as a friction surface. At least part of the friction surface is formed of a different material, in particular of a carbon-containing material. The different material exhibits lower wear and oxidation resistance than that of the rest of the friction surface and a supporting zone of the friction disc. A visual, audible or mechanical signal is produced under operating conditions due to comparatively greater wear. The signal provides a warning that the service life of the friction disc is being exceeded. A process for producing the friction disc is also provided.

摘要: There is provided a method for producing a friction plate, capable of improving the throughput of friction material and reducing the time and work required for adhering friction material segments to a core plate. The method produces a friction plate having oil grooves communicating between the internal periphery and the external periphery, by fixing friction material segments formed from a friction material to a core plate, and is featured by forming the oil grooves by plastic working of the friction material and fixation of the friction material segments with predetermined gaps therebetween to the core plate.
