    摘要: A system for providing power to a vehicle includes a combustion engine having a low number of cylinders. A mechanically driven charging mechanism is attached to the combustion engine to provide pressurized air to the combustion engine and generate increased power. The combustion engine includes a 2nd order mass balance shaft that is operatively coupled to a crankshaft of the engine. The 2nd order mass balance shaft rotates at a higher speed than the crankshaft and counters inertial forces generated by the pistons of the engine. A compressor of the mechanically driven charging mechanism is attached to the 2nd order mass balance shaft, such that the mechanically driven charging mechanism is mechanically driven by rotation of the 2nd order mass balance shaft. The high speed of the 2nd order mass balance shaft drives the compressor of the mechanically driven charging mechanism.

    摘要: A method and device for controlling a movement of a movable machine element of a machine tool or production machine with at least two drive axles are disclosed. At least one mechanical characteristic frequency is determined for each drive axle of the machine, and the lowest mechanical characteristic frequency is selected from the determined mechanical characteristic frequencies. For each drive axle of the machine, desired values are supplied to a control unit associated with the drive axle, whereby the desired values of the drive axles having a mechanical characteristic frequency higher than the lowest mechanical characteristic frequency are time-delayed. The disclosed method and device modify a method referred to as “Input Shaping” so that geometrically linked drive axles can be operated simultaneously.

    摘要: A process for balancing a vehicular driveline including a propeller shaft and an input shaft of a vehicle axle interconnected by a universal joint. First, the vehicle propeller shaft is balanced to a predetermined residual imbalance having an imbalance vector angle of 0° or 180° which lies inline with open set of cardan joint trunnions. The corrected residual imbalance is then visually marked. Next, the input shaft is balanced to a predetermined residual imbalance having an imbalance vector angle of 0° or 180° which lies inline with cross-holes in yoke ears. Again, the corrected residual imbalance on the input shaft is then visually marked. During the assembly of the vehicle, the assembly line operator couples the propeller shaft to the input shaft through a cardan joint cross by aligning the marks on the propeller shaft and the input shaft so that the marks are located opposite to each other.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine for use with a propeller driven aircraft includes a camshaft adapted to function as an output shaft that rotates a propeller to provide propulsive thrust. A gear set is configured to transfer rotational power from the crankshaft to the camshaft and to rotate the camshaft at a velocity that is proportional to the rotational velocity of the crankshaft. The gear set is disposed rearward of the engine housing rearward wall and is configured to rotate the camshaft in a direction opposite the crankshaft rotation. The length of the camshaft reduces engine torsional vibration. In one embodiment, the engine is a six-cylinder compression ignition engine having a boxer configuration and can generate a peak output power within a range from about 300 horsepower to about 350 horsepower.
