    摘要: Disclosed is a technique of achieving weight reduction of a forged rotary body while improving productivity of the forged rotary body. Temporary center holes are set for each of two or more samples extracted from one forging lot of a plurality of forged rotary bodies produced within a time period after a die misalignment adjustment through before a next die misalignment adjustment. Then, a virtual final shape of each of the samples is simulated on an assumption that machining is performed on the basis of the temporary center holes, and a rotational imbalance amount is calculated. Then, an average value of the rotational imbalance amounts in all of the samples in the same forging lot is calculated, and center-hole positions which allow the average value to become zero are set as center hole machining positions for all of the forged rotary bodies in a corresponding forging lot.

    摘要: A balance test indexing tool for use in a balance testing machine to assist a user in testing unbalance in a rotor. The tool includes a rotor mount face disposed on the rotor being tested. The rotor mount face may be machined in a surface of the rotor or provided in a separate rotor mount temporarily fixed to the rotor. The tool also includes a rotor mount receiver configured to receive the rotor mount face in the balance testing machine. The rotor mount face and rotor mount receiver are configured to provide an indexing coupling that allows the rotor to be readily indexed to any of a plurality of index positions for unbalance testing in the testing machine. The tool allows multiple balancing runs to be made with relatively little effort needed to re-index the rotor. In some embodiments the tool includes a kinematic coupling that provides highly accurate and repeatable indexing.

    摘要: A process for balancing a vehicular driveline including a propeller shaft and an input shaft of a vehicle axle interconnected by a universal joint. First, the vehicle propeller shaft is balanced to a predetermined residual imbalance having an imbalance vector angle of 0° or 180° which lies inline with open set of cardan joint trunnions. The corrected residual imbalance is then visually marked. Next, the input shaft is balanced to a predetermined residual imbalance having an imbalance vector angle of 0° or 180° which lies inline with cross-holes in yoke ears. Again, the corrected residual imbalance on the input shaft is then visually marked. During the assembly of the vehicle, the assembly line operator couples the propeller shaft to the input shaft through a cardan joint cross by aligning the marks on the propeller shaft and the input shaft so that the marks are located opposite to each other.

    摘要: A vehicle noise, vibration and harshness analysis tool according to the present invention comprises at least one sensor, each sensing a vibration or noise and generating a signal at a frequency related to the vibration or noise. A communication link with a vehicle is included to transmit data regarding the vehicle. A microprocessor system receives the signals generated by said at least one sensor and receives the vehicle data over said communication link. The microprocessor system conducts an analysis of the received sensor signals and vehicle data and identifies a vehicle component that is likely causing a vibration or noise. The microprocessor system also identifies the possible problems with the identified vehicle component. A user interface is also included with a display. The microprocessor system causes the display to list the likely vehicle components causing the vibration or noise and the possible problems with the components. The list of likely components and causes helps the technician quickly isolate and remedy the cause of the vibration or noise. The invention also discloses methods for balancing a driveshaft using analyzers according to the invention.
