    摘要: A center cord-line V-belt with a radially centered cord line of helically wound tensile cord embedded in a very high-modulus adhesion gum, an overcord layer, and an undercord layer. The adhesion gum has a substantially isotropic modulus, while the overcord and undercord layers have anisotropy in with-grain and cross-grain moduli. The overcord and undercord cross-grain moduli are less than the adhesion gum modulus. The anisotropic moduli are the result of oriented short fibers and the with-grain modulus is oriented axially in the belt. The adhesion gum preferably has no short fiber. The belt preferably has no reinforcing fabric layer and no fabric wrap. The adhesion gum, overcord layer and undercord layer are preferably based on an ethylene-alpha-olefin elastomer, with peroxide cure, reinforcing filler, and metal salt of an α-β-unsaturated organic acid. The belt may have notches on one or both of the inner and outer radial surfaces for additional flexibility.

    摘要: A V-belt assembly is provided which comprises an endless metallic belt and a plurality of V-shaped members disposed along the belt in the longitudinal direction of the belt. Each of the V-shaped members has a groove with a belt engaging surface at the bottom of the groove facing the belt. The V-shaped members also include pulley engaging surfaces for engaging the surfaces of pulleys in the transmission. A plurality of intermediate members are interposed between adjacent V-shaped members on the inside of the belt. The intermediate members are held between corresponding adjacent V-shaped members by intermediate member engaging surfaces of the V-shaped members. The intermediate members are movable towards and away from the belt along the intermediate member engaging surfaces. The side surfaces of the groove can be formed with a surface corresponding to the shape of the edge surface of the endless belt.

    摘要: A power transmission V-belt having a tensile member (11) arranged in the form of a layer along the center line of the belt and first and second elastic rubber layers (14), (13), formed on opposite surfaces of the layer. The modulus of elasticity of the second elastic rubber layer is either equal to or smaller than that of the first elastic rubber layer. A first stretchable fabric (16) is provided on the surface of the first elastic rubber layer (14) and a second stretchable fabric (15) is provided on the surface of the second elastic rubber layer (13). The stretchability of the second stretchable fabric in the longitudinal direction is larger than that of the first stretchable fabric (16). The belt has a trapezoid cross-section. The method of manufacture comprises the steps of laying a second stretchable fabric (15) on a cylindrical drum (19) laying a first elastic rubber sheet (20) small in tension elasticity modulus on the stretchable fabric (15); spirally winding a rope-shaped tensile member (11) on the elastic rubber sheet to form a tensile member layer; laying a elastic rubber sheet (21) larger in tension elasticity modulus than the first elastic rubber sheet (20) on the tensile member layer; laying a first stretchable fabric (16) lower in stretchability than the second stretchable fabric (15) on the second elastic rubber sheet (21), to form an assembly. The assembly is subjected to vulcanization to obtain a sleeve-shaped molded belt blank, and then cut into rings to form alternately indirect molded V-belts which are turned inside out before use and direct molded V-belts which can be used without turning inside out.

The microencapsulated indicator substance may be a fragrance or a colorant. There may be more than one indicating layer or zone in the product. The various zones may contain different fragrances or colorants, which may provide progressive indication of the state of wear.

    摘要: An endless power transmission belt is provided which comprises a first portion defining the bottom surface of the belt and comprising a plurality of laterally spaced power transmitting ribs and a groove between each adjacent rib, a second portion bonded to the first portion and acting as a tie band therefor and for the third portion which defines the top surface of the belt and also comprises a plurality of laterally spaced power transmitting ribs and a groove between each adjacent rib. The third portion is symmetrical with the first portion and the grooves in each portion provide a relief area between the ribs to allow debris to work through the tie band and become discharged.

The groove between adjacent belt elements extends into the fiber-loaded matrix layer of the tie band. Also provided is a method for making this belt.
