    摘要: Disclosed herein is an assembly, method of assembling, and kit for assembling an assembled flexible helical belt that is mounted within a mounting space defined by a continuous mechanical constraint of a device. Embodiments of the flexible helical belt include a flexible helical belt that has a plurality of belt teeth, where some of the belt teeth are each pierced by a through hole which extends through the respective belt tooth and where the flexible helical belt is of sufficient length such that, when the flexible helical belt is mounted within the intended mounting space, the flexible helical belt overlaps itself by at least one rotation such that each through hole is transversely aligned with at least one other through hole, enabling a transverse compression device to be fitted through the through holes, creating a transverse compressive force on the flexible helical belt to form a single continuous drive belt.

    摘要: An apparatus for making V-belts comprising a base member, a cover for the base member, a channel-like guide means carried by the base member for receiving a length of belting from a supply, first slot means cooperating with said guide means for receiving and guiding a cutting means to cut a predetermined length of said belting required to form a closed loop of said belting, second slot means cooperating with said guide means for receiving and guiding a cutting means in making a slot in each free end of said belting for receiving a web-like splice element adapted to bridge the free ends of said predetermined length of belting to form said loop, and heating means carried by said apparatus for vulcanizing the free ends of the predetermined length of belting to form a splice between the free ends of the belting. The method which comprises cutting a predetermined length of belting from a supply of V-belting, forming a slot in each free end of the predetermined length of belting, positioning a web-like splice element in bridging relation to said free ends, and vulcanizing said free ends and said splice element whereby to provide a strong and secure spliced joint between said free ends. In the preferred embodiment, a reinforcing strap made of a suitable material such as nylon is secured to the outer surface of the two free ends in bridging relation thereto by fastening means which pass into the belting and through the one or more splice elements.

    摘要: The invention relates to a universal V-belt of the type used in power transmission coupling at least two pulleys together. The belt comprises two elements, a connector element and a tube element. The connector element is uniform in cross-section and has outwardly-directed ridges over its total length. The tube element has a uniform cross-section, and is formed with a continuous longitudinal channel, the walls of which are formed with inwardly-directed ridges. One end of the connector element is inserted into one end of the longitudinal channel for approximately one-half of its length. The other end of the connector is then inserted into the other end of the longitudinal channel. The ridges on the connector and in the longitudinal channel interlock, thereby forming a continuous loop belt solid throughout.

    摘要: A flexible power transmission belt used in conjunction with toothed and/or grooved pulleys of a belt drive assembly and capable of driving from opposite portions thereof. The belt includes one driving portion which is preferably transversely toothed to mesh with toothed pulleys and an opposite longitudinal plural V-ribbed driving portion which engages at least one grooved pulley. The belt is particularly useful in belt drive assemblies in which the arc of contact between the plural Vribbed driving portion of the belt and the pulley is small or relatively small with the required high tension materially increasing stresses on the tension member of the belt.
