    摘要: A safety gas valve for hoses feeding gas-powered equipment. The valve is in the form of a separate unit which may be permanently or temporarily connected to a flexible hose, which hose has a proximal end and a distal end. The flexible hose is connected to a source of compressed gas through a quick-disconnect valve and a primary conduit. The safety gas valve contains a casing which has a seat. The safety gas valve contains a plunger having a surface capable of fitting to the seat to divide the safety gas valve into a distal compartment and a proximal compartment. The plunger or the casing wall has a discharge orifice running from the distal compartment to the proximal compartment. The safety gas valve may contain a resilient mechanism proximal to the plunger. When air or other gas flows distally through the valve, the plunger is moved distally and gas is allowed to flow freely distally. If the pressure proximal to the valve is suddenly released due to disconnection of the flexible hose from the primary conduit, at or adjacent to the quick-disconnect valve, the force of gas pressure in the flexible hose distal to the safety gas valve forces the plunger against the seat to prevent the rapid release of gas and thus prevent the loud noise and the whipping of the flexible hose usually associated with loss of pressure. The discharge orifice allows the pressure in the flexible hose distal to the valve to slowly reduce to atmospheric pressure.

    摘要: A valve stem seal assembly includes an elastomeric sealing member for sealing between a reciprocally moveable valve stem and an associated valve guide in an internal combustion engine. The assembly includes a cylindrical retainer that incorporates an end wall at a first end thereof for securing the elastomeric sealing member to the retainer. The valve assembly is installed over the valve guide, and the retainer is adapted for frictional securement to the guide, whereas the retainer extends down to and engages the surface or deck of the associated engine cylinder head. The retainer includes a radially extending bottom flange at a second end opposite the end wall, wherein the flange bears directly against the cylinder head deck. The upper surface of the flange provides a bearing surface for valve return springs, while the bottom surface of the flange includes an elastomeric sealing media bonded thereto. The sealing media assures positive sealing against oil leakage between the valve guide and the cylinder head deck.

    摘要: A valve which prevents the filling of a fluid container through a port (6) by an unauthorized party, and, at the same time, allows the filling of the container through the same port (6) by an authorized party. The valve is operated by an actuator means (10) which controls the fluid flow through the valve. The valve combines two major features: (1) operation of the actuator means (10) is by an encoded device (32) whose code is known only to the authorized party; (2) the actuator mean is sealed within the valve housing or container so that physical access to the actuator means (10) is restricted. This combination of features makes the valve tamper-proof and actuatable by authorized parties only. Also disclosed is a valve system and a method for preventing unauthorized access to a fluid container.

    摘要: The flexible hose assembly 10 interconnects a portable tank and another tank for transmitting hazardous fluids. A back check housing 34 contains a valve member 56 and a seating surface 58 for closing off flow through the back check housing. A flexible hose 16 extends downstream from the back check housing, and a flexible sensing line 26 extends within the flexible hose downstream from the back check housing for transmitting fluid pressure to a piston 36. The piston 36 is axially movable between a locked and unlocked position, and when in a locked position maintains the valve member in the open flow position and when in the unlocked position allows the valve member to move to the closed position. A biasing member is provided for biasing at least one of the piston and valve members to the unlocked position.

    摘要: A backflow prevention apparatus of light weight, modular construction which provides quick and easy access to internal check valves. The backflow prevention apparatus generally comprises a tubular valve body having a lateral opening, at least one check valve positioned within the flow stream of the tubular valve body, a movable sleeve which fits over the valve body and is configured to cover the lateral opening in the valve body, and seals, associated with the sleeve valve body, for providing a fluid tight seal between the sleeve and valve body. The tubular valve body has openings at first and second ends, and the lateral opening is flangeless. Preferably, the backflow preventer includes a first, upstream check valve and a second, downstream check valve each having thereon a stop or ridge thereon. The upstream check valve fits within the lateral opening and is positioned adjacent an upstream edge thereof, with the stop on the upstream check valve fitting against or abutting the upstream edge of the lateral opening. The downstream check valve fits within the lateral opening and is positioned adjacent the downstream edge thereof, with the stop on the downstream check valve fitting against or abutting the downstream edge of the lateral opening. The sleeve is structured and configured to fit over the tubular valve body, and is slidably movable with respect to the valve body such that the sleeve can move between a first position in which the sleeve covers the lateral opening, and a second position in which the sleeve is moved away from the lateral opening and the lateral opening is exposed.
