摘要: A pigging device of this disclosure includes a wear indicator configured to visually indicate an amount of material loss of a pipe wall contacting surface. The material loss may be symmetrical or asymmetrical. The pipe wall contacting surface may be any shape suitable, including but not limited to spherical-shaped, cylindrical-shaped, cup-shaped, disc-shaped, conical-shaped, frusto-conical shaped, bowl-shaped, and bullet-shaped. In some embodiments, the pigging device is a pipeline pig such as but not limited to a spherical foam pig, cylindrical-shaped foam pig, or a bullet-shaped foam pig. In other embodiments, the pigging device is a component of a pipeline pig such as but not limited to a cup or disc arranged about a body of the pipeline pig. The pigging device may also be a pigging disc element. The pigging device may be made of any suitable material, including but not limited to an elastomer such as urethane.

摘要: Method of purging and subsequently verifying a liquid-carrying conduit includes the steps of: providing a hydrogel comprising additive(s) selected from the group comprising: chloride ions, sulphate ions, nitrate ions fluorescein dye, carmine dye and cation salts; transporting the hydrogel along at least a portion of an offline liquid-carrying conduit to thereby purge the conduit; substantially or completely removing the hydrogel from the offline liquid-carrying conduit; flushing the offline liquid-carrying conduit with a volume of flushing water; and verifying removal of the hydrogel from the offline liquid-carrying conduit by checking the flushed water for detectable traces of the additive. The flushing step is repeated as often as necessary until the additive cannot be detected. The method may be employed to purge different types of liquid-carrying conduits, e.g. conduits for transporting potable water; conduits for transporting sewage; and oil pipelines.

摘要: A system and method for a hose with degradation monitoring is disclosed. The system includes a sensor having one or more first alignment features, a contactless switch, and a light transmitter configured to transmit a light transfer protocol. A gateway device is configured to wirelessly receive data from the sensor, and includes one or more second alignment features that are configured to align with the one or more first alignment features, a trigger configured to activate the contactless switch only when the one or more second alignment features are aligned with the one or more first alignment features, and a phototransistor configured to capture and record the light transfer protocol transmitted from the light transmitter.

摘要: A unitary removable barrier for installation in a cylindrical water line to selectively block the water line to passage of water therethrough. The unitary removable barrier is composed of a single piece body having at least one cylindrical section sized to receive upstream and downstream pipes of the water line. A unitary planar disk is molded with the cylindrical section and is of a circular circumference which completely blocks the water line when in place but which is selectively removable from the cylindrical section thus removing the barrier to the passage of water through the line.
